White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said Friday that the club will meet with Paul Konerko in two weeks to discuss his future. Previous reports indicated that Konerko could come to some sort of decision this weekend, but he apparently wants to hear the team's plan for the future before making it final. For what it's worth, Hahn said they plan to spend money to acquire an impact free agent this winter.

Paul Konerko (knee) is not in the White Sox' lineup Wednesday. Konerko exited Tuesday's game after fouling a ball off his right knee and is apparently still feeling sore. He should be considered day-to-day.

Paul Konerko left Tuesday's game against the Indians after fouling a ball off his knee. Konerko immediately dropped to the ground in pain. He managed to finish the at-bat in the top of the eighth but was removed for defense in the bottom of the frame. It's not clear whether he'll require an X-ray.

Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago was told by a source that Paul Konerko is expected to address his future "in some capacity" at some point during the team's final homestand this weekend. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported earlier this month that Konerko has been telling friends that he wants to return to the White Sox this year, but his comments to Levine on Monday cast at least some doubt on that scenario. "There are certain things I don't feel obligated to give out [or] tell people," said Konerko. "There are some things that are private, and some people take it the wrong way." The 37-year-old has battled injuries this season while hitting just .248 with 11 home runs and a career-low .674 OPS in 121 games.

Paul Konerko has been telling friends that he wants to return to the White Sox next year, reports Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY. Konerko "believes he can still be productive," according to Nightengale's report. The 37-year-old continues to struggle mightily on the field, posting a .244/.314/.358 slash line with 10 homers in 105 games. It's possible that the free-agent-to-be just doesn't have it anymore.

Paul Konerko launched a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Yankees. It was his 432nd career home run, passing Cal Ripken Jr. for 44th on the all-time list. The 37-year-old has really struggled this season, batting just .246/.313/.361 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI over 104 games while battling various injuries. Facing free agency this winter, his future is a question

Paul Konerko was scratched from Thursday's lineup after feeling lightheaded. It was really warm and humid in Chicago, which surely contributed to Konerko feeling woozy. He should be fine to play Friday. Adam Dunn took his spot at first base, while Dayan Viciedo slid into the DH spot.

Paul Konerko has been placed on waivers. The veteran first baseman is likely to pass through unclaimed because he's owed $3.25 million through the end of the season and is batting .243 with a .664 OPS. Konerko has 10-and-5 rights, so he can veto any trade.
