The 28-year-old made two starts for the Marlins in the past 10 days after being called up from their Triple-A team (going a combined 1-0 with a 6.30 ERA during 10 innings of action). Clemens will likely spend his time in the bullpen but could make an appearance starting if others in the starting rotation falter or go down with an injury.

The results have not been good, but Green is keeping the door open for Clemens to eventually return to a starting role. It's not hard to imagine Clemens getting that chance to start again eventually with the likes of Erik Johnson and Luis Perdomo currently rounding out the rotation.

He received a considerable helping hand from his offense, which helped bail him out of an early 4-1 deficit. Despite notching his first victory, Clemens' penchant for giving up the long ball-- evidenced most recently by the five homers he's given up over his first 10 innings-- has to be a cause for significant concern. He'll next face off against the Braves on Friday.

Clemens allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks and just two strikeouts over five innings against the Rockies, coming away with a no-decision in his first major-league start since 2013.

Clemens allowed three solo homers, but still pitched well enough to keep his team in it. The recently recalled right-hander has experience both as a starter and a reliever, but it looks like he's scheduled to once again take on the former role in a tough matchup with the Cubs on Saturday.

Clemens and his 4.30 Triple-A ERA will be added to the 25-man roster Sunday in an effort to provide bullpen depth. Don't look too closely into the 28-year-old's minor league numbers, as he currently makes his living in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.

The Phillies assigned Clemens to minor league camp on Sunday, CSN Philadelphia reports. Clemens was competing for a starting or long relief gig this spring. He allowed five runs on eight hits over 8.2 innings. He also walked six batters. The Phillies will likely have him remain in a starting role at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The Phillies have signed Clemens to a minor league contract. Clemens was 0-1 with a 5.84 ERA in 13 games with the Astros this past season. He will give the Phillies some additional pitching depth in the minors.

Clemens was designated for assignment by the Astros on Tuesday. Clemens earned his removal from the 40-man roster by compiling a 5.84 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 16:13 K:BB ratio over 24.2 innings. He's unlikely to land with another big league club before season's end.
