Sandoval isn't in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Padres, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval will get a rare day off after going 0-for-3 Thursday against the Cubs. Zach Green gets the nod at the hot corner and is set to bat sixth in Sandoval's absence.

Sandoval went 1-for-6 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
After missing a chance to end the game in the 10th when he grounded out with the bases loaded to end the inning, Sandoval made no mistake in the 13th, smashing the first pitch he saw from Brad Brach just over the wall in left field. The 32-year-old will continue to man third base while Evan Longoria (foot) is on the shelf, but Sandoval's .261/.302/.500 slash line with 12 homers and 36 RBI through 93 games is little more than adequate in a starting role.

Sandoval went 1-for-5 with a walk, a double, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in Wednesday's 11-8 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval had been the Giants' best hitter during their early struggles this season, but his bat went cold during this hitter's paradise road trip in Milwaukee and Colorado prior to Wednesday's line (.050/.174/.050 in previous six contests). The Panda's overall numbers remain solid (.262/.309/.515 with 11 homers), and he currently has a window of regular playing time available at the hot corner with Evan Longoria (foot) out for at least two more weeks.

Sandoval started at third base for both ends of the Giants' doubleheader sweep of the Rockies on Monday, going 1-for-7 with a run and three strikeouts between the two contests.
EDGE Analysis
While Sandoval turned in a rather underwhelming line for the series opener at Coors Field, his fantasy value is nonetheless on the upswing after the Giants placed Evan Longoria (foot) on the 10-day injured list Monday. With Longoria on track to miss more than the minimum amount of time, Sandoval should handle everyday duties at the hot corner after previously serving in more of a part-time role. Donovan Solano and Austin Slater linger as potential backup options at third base, but both profile better defensively in the middle infield and outfield, respectively.

Sandoval went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran switch hitter continues to out-perform Evan Longoria, and Sandoval is claiming a larger share of the workload at third base as a result. Over his last 50 plate appearances, Panda is slashing .326/.360/.609 with three homers and 10 RBI, and his 11 long balls on the year is already his best total since 2014.

Sandoval started at the hot corner for the second time in three games, going 0-for-3 in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval didn't make a mark on the box score, but he has been seeing increased playing time in the short term at the expense of Evan Longoria. The former has been the superior offensive player overall this year, but the latter has a better glove and fairly even splits, so this is unlikely to develop into a true platoon situation. If an even timeshare does continue, however, Sandoval's vintage .280/.318/.561 slash line could provide value in deeper formats.

Sandoval went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old was basically a one-man offense for the Giants in this one, doubling home Mike Yastrzemski in the first inning before coming around himself, and then capping the scoring for San Francisco with a third-inning solo shot. Sandoval is now slashing a surprising .288/.326/.575 on the season with 10 homers and 28 RBI through 72 games, as he tries to reach the 20-HR plateau for the first time since 2011.

Sandoval (finger) is starting at third base and batting third Friday night against the Diamondbacks, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval required stitches on his right hand following Monday's victory over the Dodgers, but he managed to avoid a trip to the shelf and is back in the starting lineup for Friday's clash. He's batting .286 with nine home runs and 26 RBI over 67 games this season.

Sandoval (finger) isn't expected to go on the injured list but may not play the next two games, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval received four stitches on his right pinkie finger after being spiked during Monday's game. The 32-year-old will be out of the starting lineup Tuesday and Wednesday with the Dodgers utilizing left-handed starters, since swinging from the right side is more problematic due to the stitches.

Sandoval went 1-for-2 in Monday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers before being removed in the bottom of the fifth inning after suffering a laceration on the pinkie finger of his right hand, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sandoval picked up the injury when Max Muncy spiked his hand while running to first base. Though Sandoval was forced to leave the contest at the next half inning, he was able to record a crucial out to snuff out a potential Dodgers rally. Manager Bruce Bochy said that Sandoval required four stitches to seal the gash and is considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday. Fortunately, X-rays cleared Sandoval of structural damage, which should help his case for avoiding the injured list.
