Aoki is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Angels, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the left-handed Tyler Skaggs starting for the Angels, Shawn O'Malley will start in left field and bat leadoff while Aoki heads to the bench. Aoki will likely return to action for Thursday's series finale versus Los Angeles.

Aoki had three hits Sunday in a win against the A's, including two against left-handed pitchers.
EDGE Analysis
Aoki has had trouble against lefties all season. Even with the two hits Sunday (just his second multi-hit game against southpaws this season), Aoki is batting .193/.268/.205 vs. left-handed pitchers. Aoki has for all intents and purposes been platooned since he returned from Triple-A in late July and likely will continue to be. His two lefty hits Sunday came off a reliever.

Aoki could continue to sit against left-handed pitching, effectively putting him in a platoon in left field, the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Part of the reason Nori Aoki was sent down in late June was his inability to hit left-handers (.174/.186/.439). Since his return in late July, he has started against a lefty once. Guillermo Heredia played left field and led off against lefties, but he was recently demoted because the Mariners needed another bullpen arm. Now it looks to be Shawn O'Malley, as no longer needed to start at shortstop with Ketel Marte back. O'Malley had two hits, including a run-scoring triple, and a walk in the role Friday night. Manager Scott Servais said he wasn't committing to the move for good, but the team isn't likely to put Aoki back in the leadoff spot, so unless Heredia is recalled, it looks to be O'Malley's job, leaving Aoki to platoon against right-handers.

Aoki is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Tigers, Shannon Drayer of MyNorthwest.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Aoki will get a regular day off after starting the past two games, as manager Scott Servais stacks the lineup with right-handers due to southpaw Daniel Norris taking the hill for Detroit. Guillermo Heredia replaces Aoki in left while batting in the leadoff spot.

Aoki is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-field platoon continues in Seattle with Aoki sitting in favor of Guillermo Heredia against an opposing lefty starter (Tyler Skaggs). Aoki collected three hits in Friday's win, his second three-hit game since his July 20 return to the majors. He didn't have a single three-hit game over the first three months of the season.

Aoki is out of the lineup against the Red Sox on Tuesday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Aoki will sit for the fourth time in the last five games as the team goes up against left-hander David Price on Tuesday. He will be replaced by Guillermo Heredia in left, but should return to the lineup Wednesday as right-hander Rick Porcello takes the mound against the Mariners.

Aoki is out of Sunday's lineup against the Cubs, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Aoki will grab a seat with the left-handed Brain Matusz toeing the rubber for the Cubs, with southpaw hitting specialist Franklin Gutierrez replacing him in left field and batting sixth for the Mariners. Given the Mariners are scheduled to face another lefty (Eduardo Rodriguez) Monday, Aoki may skip his third game in four days.

Aoki is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Aoki is hitting just .169 with a .423 OPS against left-handers this season, so it's hardly surprising that he will be held out Friday with lefty Jon Lester on the bump for the opposition. Franklin Gutierrez will get the start in left field in Aoki's place, and Shawn O'Malley will replace him atop the order.

Aoki went 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI singles and two runs in Saturday's 14-5 victory over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran oufielder plated Leonys Martin with a fourth-inning infield single, and brought home Chris Iannetta with a sixth-inning hit as well. Aoki has hit safely in all three games since being recalled from Triple-A Tacoma, going 6-for-15 with a double, triple, two RBI and three runs.

Aoki was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
One of a series of Mariners moves Wednesday, Aoki will join Mike Zunino in coming up from Tacoma, while Felix Hernandez also rejoins the team from the disabled list. In corresponding moves, the M's optioned all three of David Rollins, Jesus Sucre, and Daniel Robertson back to Triple-A. Aoki has made 67 appearances for Seattle on the season, slashing .245/.323/.313 with 11 RBI.
