Pineda (triceps) was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda had his right triceps tighten up on him Saturday night, forcing him to exit his start against the Twins early. He will now be on the shelf for at least two weeks while nursing his right arm. Pineda had said that the triceps was bothering him for a while, making it possible he remains on the IL longer than the minimum 15 days. Angel De Jesus was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday to replace him on the active roster.

Pineda (triceps) will undergo testing Sunday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda left Saturday's start against the Twins early with a triceps issue and he will now have additional tests Sunday to determine the severity of injury. The right-hander said he'd been dealing with a bothersome right triceps for a few starts, but it tightened up on him Saturday. Manager A.J. Hinch does not anticipate that Pineda will be available for his next scheduled start. A trip to the injured list remains on the table for the 33-year-old.

Pineda left Saturday's outing versus the Twins in the fourth inning with right triceps tightness, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old was removed after the third inning after aggravating his right triceps. Prior to exiting the contest, Pineda pitched three innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out three. More information on his status will likely be provided later in the evening and he should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Pineda (2-5) took the loss during Saturday's 10-0 defeat at the hands of the Guardians, allowing eight runs on nine hits while striking out one in two innings.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda got off to a rocky start -- serving up a three-run home run to Jose Ramirez before recording an out -- but was able to retire the next three Guardians. The second inning went even worse as the 33-year-old put five of the first six batters on base, capped by another Ramirez home run, to fall behind 8-0 after two frames. Pineda's downfall might've been finding the zone too often as he fired 37 of 47 pitches for strikes, though that strategy had worked prior to Saturday as it led to a 3.58 ERA and a 1.36 BB/9 would rank third in MLB if he had enough innings to qualify. The veteran righty concludes the first half with a 5.22 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 20 strikeouts in 39.2 innings across nine starts.

Pineda (2-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits across 5.1 innings to take the loss in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Royals. He had no walks and two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda pitched reasonably well but got very little offensive support in the 3-1 loss. The veteran righty isn't missing many bats, with just 19 strikeouts across 37.2 innings this season, though he does have a strong 3.58 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Pineda isn't the most exciting fantasy option, particularly with a subpar Detroit lineup behind him, but he can still be useful in certain spots. He's lined up to start again Saturday against the Guardians.

Pineda (2-3) allowed two runs on five hits across five innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Guardians. He walked two and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda earned a win in his Detroit debut back on April 21, but this was his first victory since then. The veteran recently missed about six weeks with a fractured right middle finger, and he's now allowed five runs across 10 innings in two starts since returning from the injured list. Pineda will carry a solid 3.62 ERA into his next scheduled outing Monday against the Royals in one game of a doubleheader.

Pineda (1-3) allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings Friday, striking out three and taking the loss against Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda gave up one run through three innings before Vinnie Pasquantino and Hunter Dozier tagged him with back-to-back homers in the fourth. It was his first start since May 14 after a stint on the injured list with a fractured finger. The 33-year-old righty now owns a 3.62 ERA with a 15:4 K:BB through 27.1 frames. Pineda is lined up to face Cleveland at home next week.

Pineda (finger) was activated from the 15-day injured list and will start Friday against the Royals, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Pineda is back to oppose Brad Keller after missing more than six weeks with a fractured right middle finger. Alex Faedo was optioned in a corresponding move. Pineda built up to 3.2 innings in his second and final rehab start for Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

Pineda (finger) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday against the Royals, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda made his second rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and allowed two runs over 3.2 innings, and he's poised to make his next start in the majors. The veteran right-hander is likely to face some workload limitations in his first start back from the fractured middle finger on his right hand.

Pineda (finger) struck out two over 3.1 innings in his rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Toledo, allowing an earned run on four hits and one walk.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was pulled after throwing 46 pitches (31 strikes), so he'll likely need at least one more rehab outing on the farm to build up to a traditional starter's workload before the Tigers are comfortable bringing him back from the 15-day injured list. Due to a favorable upcoming schedule that includes a pair of off days next week, the Tigers should be able to get by with a four-man rotation until Pineda is potentially ready to return from the IL for next weekend's series versus the Royals.
