Pineda (3-5) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the White Sox after giving up five runs on 12 hits while fanning four across 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda pitched into the sixth in his return and tossed 82 pitches, including 60 strikes. However, the White Sox often found a way to make contact with his deliveries and that resulted in the veteran allowing a season-high 12 hits en route to his fifth loss of the campaign. The right-hander has given up three or more runs in three of his last four outings and owns a 4.11 ERA ahead of the All-Star break next week.

Pineda (forearm) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's start against the White Sox, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda had been sidelined with forearm inflammation since June 14, but he was able to keep throwing throughout most of his rehab process. He allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out one in four innings during his lone rehab start at Triple-A St. Paul on July 1, and he'll now return to the major-league club for a final start before the All-Star break. Right-hander Griffin Jax was sent down in a corresponding move.

Pineda (forearm) will be activated from the injured list and start Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The big righty has been out since June 14 with right forearm inflammation but will return to make one last start before the All-Star break. Pineda struggled in his May 13 outing against the White Sox, allowing two homers and three runs while walking three in 5.1 innings. Injuries have further depleted Chicago's lineup, though, so Pineda may find more success this time around.

Pineda (forearm) is not expected to need another minor league rehab outing before returning from the injured list, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda made a rehab start for Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, so he could return as early as Wednesday, but it's more likely to be Thursday or Friday against Detroit. However, the Twins haven't given a specific timetable for his next start.

Pineda (forearm) gave up five runs (four earned) with one strikeout and three walks over four innings Saturday during a rehab start for Triple-A St Paul. He threw 75 pitches. "He went out. It was a successful start in a lot of ways. Obviously, he's gonna want to have success and come out of it feeling good with some confidence, but we got a lot out of what we were trying to," manager Rocco Baldelli told MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda has been on the 10-day injured list since June 13 with right forearm inflammation. It's not clear if he'll need another rehab start or return to the Minnesota rotation next week. Given Minnesota's depth issues in the rotation, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him make his next start in the majors.

Pineda (forearm) will report to Triple-A St. Paul for a rehab start Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda has been on the 10-day injured list for just over two weeks with right forearm inflammation, so he'll likely only need to make one start in the minors before the Twins activate him. Assuming Thursday's outing goes smoothly, Pineda could slot back into the big-league rotation early next week, when the Twins take on the White Sox for a three-game home series. Minnesota will likely turn to Griffin Jax to serve as a spot starter or primary pitcher out of the bullpen when a replacement for Pineda is needed again this weekend in Kansas City.

Pineda (forearm) threw a bullpen session Thursday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda was initially scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday, but he was able to do so a day earlier than expected. The right-hander will progress to a simulated game in the near future and could begin a rehab assignment afterward. Pineda has been on the 10-day injured list since June 14 due to right forearm tightness, but he's been progressing well in his recovery so far. He could return to the Twins' rotation sometime in early July if he continues to trend in the right direction.

Pineda (forearm) played catch Sunday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander landed on the injured list with forearm inflammation June 14, and it appears he'll remain on the shelf for at least another week. Pineda could rejoin the rotation during the final week of June if Friday's bullpen session goes smoothly.

Pineda (forearm) could throw a bullpen session the next few days, manager Rocco Baldelli told MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda traveled with the team on the current road trip which may be a sign he's making progress. Pineda was removed from Sunday's game against the Astros due to right forearm tightness.

Pineda (forearm) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pineda suffered the injury during his last start Sunday against Houston, and the team will place him on the shelf as a precaution. Kenta Maeda was activated from the IL and will rejoin the rotation Monday, and Randy Dobnak could fill in as the fifth starter while Pineda returns to health.
