Joyce went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The fourth-inning shot off Marcus Stroman was Joyce's first long ball since July 3 and only his fourth of the year through 128 plate appearances. Joyce has been a useful pinch-hitting option for Atlanta this season, slashing .255/.359/.427, but he doesn't get enough playing time to have much fantasy value even in deep NL-only formats.

Joyce is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce surprisingly drew the designated hitter assignment over Austin Riley for the first two games of the interleague series but didn't do much with the opportunity, going 1-for-8 with a walk and three strikeouts between the contests. He'll retreat to a bench role Wednesday and should see most of his usage as a pinch hitter over the remainder of the season.

Joyce went 1-for-1 and scored the first run of the game in Sunday's win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Stepping to the plate as a pinch hitter with one out in the eighth inning, Joyce laced a single to right field and then came around to score on Freddie Freeman's game-winning homer. Joyce has been a key bench weapon for Atlanta this season, slashing .300/.404/.500 in 94 plate appearances with 14 of his 24 hits -- and two of his three home runs -- coming as a pinch hitter.

Joyce went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two walks, an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce plated the game-winning run in the top of the 12th inning on an infield single. He was able to make the most of his opportunities in the series finale, reaching base four times. The 34-year-old has only made six starts this season, but he's batting .310 with two homers and seven RBI in 58 at-bats (48 games).

Joyce will start in right field and bat eighth Sunday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
It's only the sixth start of the season for Joyce, who has seen light usage off the Atlanta bench since cracking the Opening Day roster. Joyce will merely be a one-day replacement for Nick Markakis, who is resting for just the third time since the beginning of May.

Joyce was reinstated from the bereavement list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce missed the minimum of three games on the bereavement list. He'll resume his bench role now that he's back with the team.

Joyce was placed on the bereavement list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Players may remain on the bereavement list for anywhere from three to seven games, meaning Joyce will be out until at least Tuesday. Kyle Wright will take his place on the roster.

Joyce got the start in right field and hit eighth in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader in Cleveland, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run.
EDGE Analysis
Nick Markakis was able to DH in an American League park, afford Joyce a rare starting opportunity. The journeyman outfielder only has three hits in 16 plate appearances on the year so far, but all three have gone for extra bases (a double and two homers).

Thu 4/18/19 10:38 AM

Joyce remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though he's been on the active roster all season, Joyce has yet to draw a start through the Braves' first 18 games. The 34-year-old has logged only 12 plate appearances off the bench and should continue to see most of his limited opportunities as a pinch hitter against right-handed pitching.

Fri 3/29/19 12:06 AM

Joyce went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce was called on to pinch hit in the seventh inning and came through with a two-run blast to right field. After fighting to make the Opening Day roster, Joyce is already proving his worth off the bench, although it remains to be seen if he can consistently provide power for the Braves in his age-34 season, especially after he struggled to stay healthy in Oakland a year ago. He finished the 2018 campaign with seven homers and 15 RBI over 83 contests.
