Joyce was ejected in the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Nationals for arguing balls and strikes, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce went hitless in two at-bats before departing, ending a six-start on-base streak. Though the Braves recently added another corner outfielder to the mix in Nick Markakis, there should be room in the lineup for both lefty hitters versus right-handed pitching. Rather than Joyce, Markakis' return from the injured list spells bad news for the likes of Rafael Ortega, Adam Duvall and Austin Riley, all of whom are poised to fill reserve roles in the outfield moving forward.

Joyce is not in the lineup against lefty Jason Vargas and the Phillies on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce owns an excellent .412/.524/.735 slash line over his last 12 contests, though he's been held out of the lineup against southpaws. Johan Camargo will start in right field in his absence.

Mon 9/9/19 3:33 PM

Joyce went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double Sunday in the Braves' 9-4 loss to the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce went yard in both of the final two games of the series and is now slashing an impressive .329/.430/.534 since the beginning of August. The 35-year-old seized hold of a large-side platoon role in right field in mid-August and doesn't look on track to surrender the job anytime soon. He'll pick up his third straight start Monday versus the Phillies and will bat fifth.

Sun 9/1/19 4:31 PM

Joyce is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce will take a seat after starting in eight of the last nine games and slashing .385/.515/.538 over that stretch. Though he'll be sitting out against a right-hander (Lucas Giolito) in the series finale, Joyce still looks like the Braves' primary option in right field most nights.

Wed 8/28/19 11:37 PM

Joyce went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce led off the second inning by taking Jacob Waguespack deep for his fifth home run of the season. With the effort, he's now managed at least one hit in eight of his last 10 starts. While he is still relegated to the bench against most left-handers, Joyce has quietly produced a .282/.386/.451 line across 166 plate appearances for the season.

Wed 8/21/19 4:28 PM

Joyce is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Joyce will take a seat with southpaw Caleb Smith on the hill for Miami, but the 35-year-old tentatively looks on track to fill a large-side platoon role in the Braves outfield following Ender Inciarte's (hamstring) recent move to the 10-day injured list. The 35-year-old started in four of the past five games, going 6-for-14 with a home run, four RBI and three runs over that span.
