It's an odd day for Teixeira to be out of the lineup with righty Nick Martinez on the hill for the Rangers, but it seems like just a rest day, as he had started all four games since returning from the DL on Saturday. Rob Refsnyder will start at first base and hit ninth Wednesday.

The team doctor that examined him, Dr. Ahmad, said that surgery in the offseason "..is 'probably' inevitable..", however the first baseman determined that he would be able to get through the rest of the season, and even be ready for a rehab assignment within the next three weeks.
