"I'll just stay off it for a couple of days," the infielder said Sunday. "Ice it, and, like I said, take maybe four days off and get myself ready to finish strong." Izturis is apparently a fallback option to Atlanta's Martin Prado, but he would likely be easier to obtain. The 31-year-old batted .276/.334/.388 with five homers, 38 RBI and a .722 OPS over 494 plate appearances this season and is under contract for $3.8 million in 2012. The Tigers could use him at either second base or the hot corner.
