Maicer Izturis is expected to need about three more days of rest for his intercostal muscle strain. Izturis suffered the injury on a swing Saturday night. "I'll just stay off it for a couple of days," the infielder said Sunday. "Ice it, and, like I said, take maybe four days off and get myself ready to finish strong." He's batting .253/.320/.317 in 91 games played this season.
