Martin is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against Kansas City, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martin will head to the bench after going 0-for-4 during Game 1. JaCoby Jones will start in center field while Victor Reyes gets the assignment in left field.

Martin went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and an additional run scored in Thursday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Martin more than doubled his RBI total on the season with one swing of the bat. He's now hitting .295/.358/.475 with 12 runs, seven RBI, two homers and one stolen base on the season (15 games). If the veteran outfielder is able to keep getting on base at a reasonable clip, he should be a decent source of runs and possibly stolen bases.

Martin went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Thursday's loss to the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Martin now has back-to-back three-hit efforts, which has raised his batting average up to .295. The veteran outfielder has been a steady presence so far as the Tigers' leadoff hitter, and he should be a decent source of runs moving forward if he keeps hitting.

Martin went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Martin had all of Detroit's hits against Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco, which is the second time this week he's done that after collecting both of the team's two hits on Sunday. It's nice to see the veteran outfielder get going, but his value will be capped from the leadoff spot if the rest of the team doesn't produce around him.

Martin went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 1-0 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Martin was the only Tigers player to record a hit in this one. The veteran outfielder now has three multi-hit performances over his past five games. If Martin continues to reach base, he could be a decent source of runs and steals atop Detroit's lineup.

After going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Tuesday's loss to the Royals, Martin is slashing just .176/.300/.235 through his first 17 at-bats of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Martin put together a solid spring training, but he's off to a cold start in the regular season as the Tigers' leadoff hitter. The veteran slashed just .172/.232/.281 last year, so if he doesn't begin to turn things around soon, the team may decide to slide him down in the order.

Martin is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Pirates, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martin will get some rest after going 0-for-3 in Detroit's first game against Pittsburgh. In his place, JaCoby Jones will start in center field and hit seventh, while Dixon Machado moves up to the leadoff spot.

As expected, Martin is batting leadoff for the Tigers in their season opener Friday against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Martin spent most of spring training leading off, so it's no surprise to see him occupy the role here. The 30-year-old slashed .316/.400/.544 in Grapefruit League action, and if he can carry that success over to the regular season, he should be able to put last year's dismal .172/.232/.281 line behind him quickly.

Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said he'd like Martin to be aggressive on the bases atop the lineup, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martin's career high in steals is 36, which he recorded in 2013 with the Rangers. The 30-year-old stole just seven bases last season, but Martin struggled across the board and got on base at just a .232 clip. If he can improve upon that mark in 2018, it sounds like Martin should have a chance to record a decent number of steals as Detroit's tablesetter.

Martin is slashing .302/.333/.558 through 43 Grapefruit League at-bats with three home runs, five RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base.
EDGE Analysis
Martin, who is likely to begin the year as the team's leadoff hitter, has done a little bit of everything this spring. He posted a woeful .172/.232/.281 slash line in 2017, but after making some adjustments to his swing in the offseason, Martin could be in store for a bounceback season. He will certainly have the opportunity to post some solid numbers batting a few spots in front of Miguel Cabrera in the Detroit lineup.
