He made his major-league debut with the Texas Rangers back in 2011 and played briefly for Seattle in 2016 and for part of the 2017 season. Overseas, the 34-year-old slashed just .220/.350/.461 over three-plus years. The left-handed-hitting ...

Leonys Martin Designated For Assignment rotoballer.com Sat 6/22/19 3:19 PM

Cleveland Indians outfielder Leonys Martin was designated for assignment on Saturday and will now either be traded or cut by the team in the next week. The move isn't much of a surprise as the 31-year-old has slashed just .199/.276/.343 on the year. Pitcher Aaron Civale was called up to replace Martin on the roster for now. The more intriguing aspect of this move, however, could be the opening up of a roster spot for slugging outfielder Bobby Bradley, who has hit 24 home runs in Triple-A this [...]

Leonys Martin is Resting on Thursday rotoballer.com Thu 5/30/19 6:02 PM

Cleveland Indians outfielder Leonys Martin (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Chicago White Sox. The speedy veteran outfielder will get the day off against the left-handed pitcher. Oscar Mercado will play center field and bat second versus lefty Manny Banuelos. Mercado is a decent cheap DFS option for Thursday's contest.

Mercado is the only attractive daily option on Tuesday evening. The 24-year-old rookie is hitting a nice .323/.417/.516 with a homer, nine runs, four RBI and [...]

Every week in baseball, a significant player will hit the disabled list, slip into a slump, or get traded out of a good spot. How fantasy owners adapt to these situations can make or break the season as a whole. One lousy add might not hurt the long-term standing of a team, but failing to take advantage of breakouts or impact bats before others sure can.The primary challenge of playing in an NL or AL-only league is often the lack of options regarding adding and subtracting players when needed. I[...]

Well, the Major League season is already 23% of the way done. Some owners think that they are on their way to victory while others are patiently waiting for things to turn around. Still, while all the victory laps are being taken, the smart owner is looking forward to the rest of the year and finding what value can still be had. [...]

Leonys Martin Out Against Lefty rotoballer.com Thu 5/9/19 12:38 PM

Cleveland Indians outfielder Leonys Martin is not in the starting lineup against White Sox left-handed starting pitcher Manny Banuelos on Thursday. Jordan Luplow draws into the lineup and is playing center field and batting fifth. Luplow has seven hits in his 30 at-bats (.233) this season for the Tribe with no home runs, three runs scored and one stolen base. Even in a decent lineup spot, Luplow isn't very attractive for DFS purposes in a Cleveland lineup that has struggled mightily.
