Jonathan Villar figures to get playing time in Baltimore, making him a potential SB play in fantasy. Brandon Kintzler, Keone Kela, Brad Ziegler, and Jake Diekman join the ranks of speculative saves [...]

Leonys Martin Activated From Disabled List rotoballer.com Fri 7/20/18 11:40 AM

Detroit Tigers outfielder Leonys Martin has been activated off of the disabled list prior to the team's game on Friday. Martin was on the DL since Jul 1 with a hamstring injury. He is hitting .257 on the season with nine home runs, 29 RBI and seven stolen bases. Martin should be picked up in deeper leagues as he is one of the better hitters in the Tigers lineup and should see consistent starts. It should be noted that there is a chance he is moved prior to the deadline and if he is reduced to a [...]

Francisco Liriano, Mike Fiers, Leonys Martin On Trade Block rotoballer.com Fri 7/20/18 7:59 AM

The Detroit Tigers are trying to trade starting pitchers Francisco Liriano and Mike Fiers and outfielder Leonys Martin at the trade deadline, while starting pitcher Michael Fulmer and outfielder Nicholas Castellanos are on the back burner. A team would have to make a big push to land either Fulmer or Castellanos. The Tigers are clearly in rebuild mode and would like to get some pieces for the future. Detroit Tigers outfielder and leadoff hitter Leonys Martin (hamstring) will not return to the lineup before the All Star break, manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters on Saturday. The veteran outfielder has been on the shelf since July 2, and could begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo July 16-19, which would put him in line to rejoin the club on July 20 following the break. Martin is batting .257 with nine homers and seven stolen bases on the season.

Detroit Tigers outfielder Leonys Martin is going to be out of the lineup until the All-Star break according to manager Rob Gardenhire. Martin has been on the DL since July 1 with a hamstring strain. JaCoby Jones has been starting in center during his absence. Jones is hitting just .221 with seven home runs, 22 RBI and seven stolen bases in 2018. He has solid power and speed numbers, but he can't be trusted in lineups until his batting average improves.

Detroit Tigers closer Shane Greene (shoulder) and outfielder Leonys Martin (hamstring) were both placed on the 10-day disabled list; Martin on Sunday, Greene on Monday. Greene's injury comes as a bit of a surprise, but according to Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire, Greene "said it's been bothering him for a while." The injury might explain his struggles during the month of June, though he didn't officially blow a save during that time. Regardless, he will be on the shelf to recover — especially[...]

Detroit Tigers outfielder Leonys Martin left Sunday's game against the Blue Jays with a left hamstring cramp. Though cramps usually aren't a big deal, it's the same hamstring that he strained earlier this season forcing him to go on the disabled list. As of now, Martin will be listed as day-to-day with more news to follow soon. Victor Reyes replaced Martin in the outfield following the injury.
