Kyle Lohse Retires rotoballer.com Fri 5/11/18 9:22 AM

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Kyle Lohse officially announced his retirement from baseball on Thursday. Lohse never appeared above Triple-A for the Royals, but it ends a ride of 16 professional seasons. Lohse posted one excellent season in 2012 and a handful of above-average seasons with the Cardinals and Brewers, but he hadn't pitched more than 10 innings in the majors since 2015. He finishes up his career with 147 wins and 1,615 strikeouts.

Kyle Lohse Assigned to Triple-A Omaha rotoballer.com Wed 5/2/18 11:28 AM

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Kyle Lohse has been assigned to Triple-A Omaha. Lohse will be hoping to do what Clay Buchholz could not and earn a spot in the Royals rotation. The 39-year-old most recently had a four-year spell of fantasy relevance from 2011 to 2014 with the Cardinals and Brewers. However, his lack of strikeouts always prevented him from becoming a true fantasy stud. If Lohse can earn a spot in the Royal rotation, he could have value as a streamer and in two-start weeks in A[...]

The Kansas City Royals announced that they have signed starting pitcher Kyle Lohse to a minor-league deal. Lohse is now 39-years-old and hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016, but the Royals desperately need starting pitching depth. It remains to be seen whether Lohse will make an appearance in the majors, but fantasy owners should steer clear even if he does. Lohse hasn't been fantasy relevant since 2014, and it's unlikely that he's gotten better since then.
