Profar has been dropped to the seventh spot in the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar was brought in to be a top-of-the-order hitter for the Rockies, but he has struggled to a .210/.304/.328 bating line through 139 plate appearances. Charlie Blackmon is leading off Tuesday and Randal Grichuk is batting second.

Profar went 2-for-5 with a double, a walk, one run scored and one RBI on Sunday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Profar returned to the leadoff spot for only the second time in his last 14 games, and he delivered an RBI double in the third inning before coming around to score in the same frame. Since losing his role as the primary leadoff hitter, Profar has gone a respectable 12-for-49 with six RBI and seven runs scored across 57 plate appearances. Even so, he has a disastrous 64 wRC+ and .289 wOBA across 30 games to begin the campaign.

Profar will be on the bench Saturday against the Mets, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar hasn't taken much advantage of Coors Field thus far this season, hitting .207/.297/.324 in his first 29 games as a Rockie. Randal Grichuk slides to left field Saturday as Brenton Doyle starts in center.

Tue 4/25/23 8:38 AM

Profar went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Monday's 6-0 win over the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
He got the ball rolling on a much-needed victory for the Rockies by taking Cal Quantrill deep for a solo shot in the first inning, before adding a two-run single in the fourth. Profar has had trouble getting going early in his tenure with Colorado, and while he does have four hits in the last three games, that's boosted his slash line to a mere .210/.293/.346 through 92 plate appearances with three homers, seven runs and nine RBI.

Profar went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Wednesday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Profar led off the home half of the first inning with a solo homer, his second long ball of the season. He hit well across the team's seven-game homestand, collecting seven hits in 25 at-bats with five RBI and four runs scored. Profar has been an everyday player and hit atop the Rockies' order since making his season debut April 2.

Profar went 0-for-5 with an RBI on Friday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Profar had a forgettable game, though he managed to drive in his first run as a Rockie with a groundout in the seventh inning. He's tallied only two hits in his first 20 at-bats of the campaign, though he has consistently served as the team's leadoff hitter. Because Profar signed with the Rockies late in the spring and wasn't able to join the team until March 28, he could take some extra time to get going at the dish.

Sun 4/2/23 1:22 PM

Profar is starting in left field and batting leadoff Sunday against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old signed with the Rockies on March 19 but was unable to enter the country until just before Opening Day due to visa issues. However, he's now ready to play after seeing action in some minor-league games in Arizona. Profar had a .243/.331/.391 slash line with 15 home runs, 58 RBI and five stolen bases last season in San Diego, and he's expected to operate as Colorado's primary left fielder in 2023.

Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters before Saturday's game against the Padres that Profar will join the Rockies soon but there's no timetable for his return, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar has reported to Arizona, and he's been playing in minor-league games, but the outfielder will need more work before joining Colorado's regular lineup. Signed to a one-year, $7.75 million contract March 19, Profar is expected to be a regular for the Rockies once he links up with the club.

Profar is not with the Rockies in San Diego ahead of their season opener Thursday against the Padres, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar signed a one-year, $7.75 million contract with Colorado on March 19, but he had some visa issues and didn't report to camp until March 28. The 30-year-old outfielder will remain at extended spring training for a stretch of tune-up games. He got nine at-bats in a minor-league game there Wednesday.

Tue 3/28/23 1:45 PM

Profar resolved his visa issues Tuesday and is on his way to join the Rockies in Arizona, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar agreed to a one-year, $7.75 million contract with the Rockies last Sunday and can now finally join up with his new team just before the close of spring camp. It's going to be a quick turnaround, but the 30-year-old could very well be in Colorado's starting lineup for Opening Day on Thursday at San Diego. He doesn't offer a ton of power or speed, but Coors Field tends to elevate those things. It's an ideal landing spot for the former top prospect.
