Julio Borbon (ankle) has been running in a pool and hitting off a tee for the past week. Borbon underwent surgery in mid-August to repair ligament damage in his left ankle. He's still a couple weeks away from gaining clearance to play in live-action games.

Julio Borbon underwent surgery Monday to stabilize his sprained left ankle. Borbon is expected to be sidelined for six weeks, which puts his availability in question for September. The Rangers are content with Endy Chavez and Craig Gentry in center field right now, but top prospect Leonys Martin could eventually be in line for a call-up.

Julio Borbon may require surgery to stabilize his sprained left ankle. If Borbon has the procedure, he would miss 6-8 weeks. The 25-year-old outfielder was placed on the disabled list on July 9 after opening the season with a .654 OPS.

Julio Borbon was pulled from a game with Triple-A Round Rock on Friday night due to an ankle injury. Borbon was taken off the field on a stretcher and sent for X-rays. Endy Chavez has run away with the starting center field job at the major league level, but Borbon has been on fire lately with the bat. Stay tuned for an update on his status.
