Zimmermann (1-13) allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out two across 4.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann held the Twins to two runs through four innings but imploded -- with the help of poor defense behind him -- in the fifth frame. Trouble began as the leadoff batter reached on an error, though Zimmermann compounded the mistake by allowing a hit to three of the next four batters he faced. Though he's shown flashes of usefulness throughout the season, Zimmermann has now allowed at least four earned runs in each of his last four starts while never surpassing five innings pitched. For the season, he owns an ugly 6.91 ERA and 1.52 WHIP across 112 innings.

Zimmermann (1-12) took the loss Friday as the Tigers were thumped 10-1 by the White Sox. He coughed up nine runs on 11 hits and a walk over 3.2 innings, though he did also struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander gave up two runs in both the second and third innings before things went completely off the rails, and Eloy Jimenez's grand slam in the fourth chased Zimmermann from the game. He's now lost three straight starts and four straight decisions, with his only win of the year coming July 29, but Zimmermann will still head to the mound one more time in 2019 -- carrying a 6.85 ERA and 80:24 K:BB over 107.2 innings into Thursday's home start against the Twins.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said that Zimmermann will have his next scheduled start pushed back to Friday's game against the White Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann will be returning to the mound on six days' rest after covering five innings in his last outing Sept. 13 versus the Orioles. Heading into the week, the veteran was expected to take the hill Thursday in Cleveland, but Gardenhire elected to move the piggyback tandem of Daniel Norris and Drew VerHagen ahead of Zimmermann in the rotation order.

Zimmermann (1-11) took the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits while striking out three over five innings Friday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann surrendered one run in the first inning followed by three runs in the fifth, and he'd depart with a 4-0 deficit. The 33-year-old has been saddled with back-to-back losses, allowing 10 runs over his last two outings (10 innings). He owns a 6.32 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with a 74:23 K:BB over 104 frames in 2019.

Zimmermann (1-10) allowed six runs over five innings to take the loss Saturday against the Athletics. He gave up seven hits and a walk, while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann had been pitching better lately, with no more than two earned runs allowed in any of his previous four starts, but he struggled in Oakland. The veteran righty was tagged for two home runs, and the two strikeouts were his fewest in an outing since July 29. Zimmermann will take a dreadful 6.27 ERA into his next scheduled appearance Friday against the Orioles.

Zimmermann allowed two runs across six innings but did not factor into the decision in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Twins. He gave up nine hits with no walks, while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann's 6.03 season ERA is unsightly, though the veteran righty has looked a lot better since coming off the injured list on Aug. 17. Across his past four starts, Zimmermann has allowed just six earned runs in 22 innings with 17 strikeouts and only one walk. However, Detroit's offense has provided little support, so the 33-year-old has no wins to show for his improved performance. Zimmermann will look to keep stringing together solid outings his next time out Saturday in Oakland.

Zimmermann allowed just two runs over six innings but did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to Cleveland. He gave up five hits and no walks, while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann has a rough 6.24 ERA this season, but he's been sharp in three outings since returning from the injured list on Aug. 17. During the stretch, the veteran righty has a 2.25 ERA with 14 strikeouts across 16 innings, though he has no wins to show for it. Zimmermann will look to keep rolling in a tough matchup against the powerful Twins lineup Monday.

Zimmermann (1-9) was charged with the loss against the Astros on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander may have taken the loss, but he turned in a solid performance against a volatile Astros lineup at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The bulk of Zimmermann's damage came in the fourth inning after he gave up a double to Michael Brantley and a two-run home run to Alex Bregman. The 33-year-old will look to continue improving upon a disappointing 6.48 ERA and 1.46 WHIP on Wednesday against Cleveland.

Zimmermann (1-9) allowed two runs on just three hits and a walk across five innings but took the loss Thursday against the Astros. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Zimmermann pitched pretty well against a tough Houston lineup at Minute Maid Park, but Gerrit Cole was on the hill for the Astros and completely shut down Detroit. Zimmermann's ERA is sitting at an unsightly 6.48 for the season, though he's pitched well in two starts since coming off the injured list, yielding just two runs on four hits across 10 innings. The veteran righty will look to build on these positive results his next time out Wednesday versus Cleveland.

Zimmerman allowed one hit while throwing five scoreless frames with no walks and five strikeouts during a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander missed his last couple outings with a right cervical spasm, but with his sparkling performance Saturday, there doesn't seem to be any lingering effects. It's too bad the Tigers limited him to 63 pitches because he was on his way to a special night. Instead, he settled for a no-decision in an extra-innings 1-0 loss. He could have used the win, as Zimmerman, who will pitch at the Astros on Thursday, is 1-8 with a 6.66 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 77 innings this season.
