Lyles tossed 4.1 innings, surrendering three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three in Saturday's loss to the Red Sox. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Lyles gave up all three runs in the bottom of the second, most notably surrendering a two-RBI single to Enrique Hernandez. The 10 base runners he allowed were the second highest he's given up this season, falling one short of the 11 that reached against him last time he faced the Red Sox on May 1. Lyles had been very productive in May coming into Saturday, posting a quality start in four of his prior five starts with a 3.31 ERA on the month. The difficult outing raised his month-long ERA from 3.31 to 3.65 and his season-long stats now sit at a 4.26 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 51 strikeouts over 57 innings.

Lyles is starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyles has posted a 3.31 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 32.2 innings over five starts in May, and he'll make his 10th start of the season during Saturday's matinee. Although he posted a quality start in four of his last five outings, the right-hander was limited to two wins during that time.

Lyles (3-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Nearly all the damage against the 31-year-old was caused by Aaron Judge. Lyles served up a pair of homers to the Yankees slugger, including a two-run shot in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4. He had allowed just one home run over his previous four starts and he's now given up seven through 52.2 innings. For now, it's a noticeable improvement after Lyles was tagged with a league-worst 38 long balls last season. He'll carry a 4.10 ERA into his projected matchup in Boston this weekend.

Lyles (2-4) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and no walks while striking out eight over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
This was one of Lyles' best outings of the campaign -- he notched a season-high eight strikeouts and completed seven frames for just the second time -- but he was outdueled by Gerrit Cole and consequently was handed his fourth loss. The right-hander nonetheless has plenty of positives to take from this performance against a formidable Yankees offense, as he racked up 13 swinging strikes and didn't walk a batter for the first time this season. Lyles will look to carry that momentum into his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to be a rematch against New York on the road early next week.

Lyles (2-3) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs on six hits and three walks over 5.2 innings as the Orioles fell 4-2 to the Tigers. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The six whiffs tied his season high, but so did the three free passes and it was overall another mediocre outing for Lyles. The veteran right-hander has a 4.38 ERA through seven starts and 39 innings, but it comes with a 1.51 WHIP and subpar 18.5 percent strikeout rate.

Lyles allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out five in 7.1 innings during Sunday's loss in the first game of a doubleheader against the Royals. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Lyles had to wait two extra days to make his start after the Orioles' last two games were postponed, but he had his longest start of the season in Sunday's matinee. The right-hander allowed just one extra-base hit, but the Royals were able to generate some runs to force Lyles to settle for the no-decision. He's lasted at least 4.2 innings in every start this year and tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Detroit on Friday.

Lyles (2-2) earned the win after giving up one run on seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks across six innings during Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander generated 13 swinging strikes and limited Boston to one run despite allowing multiple baserunners to reach in five of his six innings. It was the first time this season Lyles completed six full frames, and the six strikeouts also tied his season high. The 31-year-old has a 4.50 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB across 26 innings this year, and his next start tentatively lines up for Friday against the Royals.

Lyles (1-2) took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three in 4.2 innings in a 12-8 defeat Tuesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
After cruising through the first two innings, Lyles gave up home runs in each of the next three frames as the Yankees jumped out to a 6-0 lead. After giving up a whopping 38 homers last season, he had only allowed one home run in his first three starts. That changed quickly as Anthony Rizzo tagged him twice and Joey Gallo added a long ball. Consistency has been a challenge throughout the career of the 31-year-old and continues to be the case as he's had two good and two bad starts.
