Hellickson expects his shoulder strain to cause him to miss just one start, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson landed on the injured list Tuesday but played catch the same day, so a brief absence does seem to be a possibility. He's reportedly been dealing with the injury since spring training and decided he needed to skip a start in order to heal. His 8.25 ERA and 2.25 WHIP over his last three starts may have played a part in that decision.

Hellickson landed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right shoulder Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson has taken the loss in three straight outings, giving up 14 runs (11 earned) across just 12 innings. It's not clear how much of that rough patch was injury-related. Javy Guerra was activated in a corresponding move.

Hellickson (2-3) ceded three runs on four hits and three walks in three innings to take the loss Sunday against the Cubs. He struck out one batter while throwing only 30 of his 64 pitches for strikes.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson displayed little command or control on the evening, issuing at least three free passes for the third straight start and serving up a home run in his sixth consecutive outing. The 32-year-old is sitting on a 6.23 ERA and 1.72 WHIP through 39 innings this season and could be in jeopardy of losing his rotation spot if he turns in another stinker during his upcoming turn against the lowly Marlins next weekend.

Hellickson (2-2) allowed five earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three across five innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson allowed four of the first six batters he faced to reach base, culminating in a grand slam by Wilson Ramos. Despite the big blow, he managed to rebound and allow only one earned run across his next four innings of work, salvaging a more respectable line. Overall, Hellickson continues to get crushed by walks and home runs -- he's allowed 4.25 BB/9 and 2.0 HR/9 this season -- making him an extremely risky proposition in each of his starts. He'll likely have another tough matchup in his next outing, currently scheduled for Sunday against the Cubs.

Hellickson (2-1) allowed six runs (three earned) on seven hits with four strikeouts and three walks across four innings in a loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He tossed up two home runs in the first two innings, so Hellickson was at fault too, but an error led to three unearned runs charged to his record. Hellickson has allowed seven home runs in seven outings, so while opponents are hitting .287 against him, the 2.0 HR/9 is hurting him most. Hellickson owns a 5.52 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with 26 strikeouts in 31 innings, but he has managed to post a 2-1 record. He will start again at home against the Mets on Tuesday.

Hellickson didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Phillies, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out nine across 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson settled in nicely after allowing a first-inning homer to Jean Segura, retiring 15 of the next 17 batters -- a season-high nine via strikeout -- before surrendering a single to Segura with one out in the sixth inning and subsequently getting the hook. The right-hander had thrown just 79 pitches, though the decision was made to prevent Hellickson from facing the heart of Philadelphia's order a third time through. Rhys Hoskins ultimately homered off Dan Jennings to bring in Segura, leaving Hellickson with two earned runs on the day. Hellickson will carry a 5.33 ERA into his next start, which will come on the road against the Brewers.

Hellickson allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and no walks across three innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
For the second straight start, the 32-year-old really struggled, but fortunately for him, so did his counterpart, and neither factored into the decision during this high-scoring affair -- a 7-6 win for the Nationals. Hellickson threw 39 strikes out of 55 pitches, but he allowed two home runs, which is how the Padres scored four of their six runs. He's tossed up three homers in his last eight innings. Hellickson is 2-0 with a 5.82 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 21.2 innings this season. His next scheduled start is on the road against the Phillies on Friday.

Hellickson gave up five runs on nine hits with two walks while striking out four through five innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson only allowed two runs through the first four innings, but the wheels came off in the fifth as he allowed a three runs including a two-run bomb from Mark Reynolds. After outperforming his FIP up to this point, the 32-year-old regressed to a 9.00 ERA and a 5.29 FIP in this start. The right-hander has a 2-0 record and a 4.34 ERA through three starts this season. Hellickson will get his next start Sunday against the Padres.

Hellickson (2-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-6 victory over the Giants, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He didn't strike out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The Nats staked the right-hander to a 4-0 lead after two innings, and while Hellickson was far from dominant -- he managed only three swinging strikes among his 79 pitches (51 total strikes) -- he did his part before exiting and handing things off to Washington's combustible bullpen. Hellickson has a superficially strong 2.63 ERA that isn't backed by a shaky 6:8 K:BB through 13.2 innings, and he'll be a risky play in his next start Monday at Coors Field.

Hellickson (1-0) allowed three hits and four walks while striking out six across six scoreless innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Hellickson was given an early three-run cushion, and he took advantage by working fairly efficiently. His only trouble came in the fifth inning, when he walked two batters and allowed a hit prior to working out of the jam. His six strikeouts were uncharacteristic, and his six swinging strikes are indicative that a strikeout per inning isn't likely to be his new norm.
