White Sox signed INF Jeff Keppinger to a three-year, $12 million contract. The deal was reported last week and has now become official. Keppinger will make $3.5 million in 2013, $4 million in 2014 and $4.5 million in 2015. The 32-year-old is coming off a career-year with the Rays, as he batted .325/.367/.439 with nine homers, 40 RBI and an .806 OPS. Keppinger broke his right fibula last month when he fell down a flight of stairs at his house, but he's expected to be ready to go for the start of spring training.

The 32-year-old broke his right fibula when he fell down a flight of stairs at his house, but he should be ready to be the ChiSox regular third baseman in 2013.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports hears that the White Sox and Jeff Keppinger have agreed to a three-year deal. No word yet on the terms involved, but there were reports that bidding was in the three-year, $12 million range. The Yankees were considering Keppinger as a possible stop-gap option with Alex Rodriguez set to undergo hip surgery, but they'll now have to go back to the drawing board.

CBS Sports' Danny Knobler hears that the Yankees "really want" free agent infielder Jeff Keppinger. Coming off a season where he batted .325/.367/.439 with nine homers, 40 RBI and an .806 OPS for the Rays, there's talk that he could get a three-year, $13 million deal, or perhaps even more. If signed, Keppinger would function as a stop-gap option at third base for the Bombers. The veteran infielder is recovering from surgery to repair a broken fibula, but he's expected to be 100 percent for spring training.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman hears that Jeff Keppinger is looking for a three-year deal in the vicinity of $12 million. It's the same average annual value as the two-year, $8 million pact FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal said Keppinger was seeking, but obviously with an additional year added on. The Yankees appear to be the team most interested in him at this point. Keppiner is recovering from a broken fibula but is expected to be 100 percent for spring training.

Keppinger, who turns 33 in April, is coming off a season where he batted .325/.367/.439 with nine homers, 40 RBI and an .806 OPS for the Rays. The Yankees are rumored to have strong interest.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports hears that the Yankees' interest in free agent infielder Jeff Keppinger is "very strong." News of Alex Rodriguez's looming hip surgery appears to have accelerated the process, as the Yankees met with one of Keppinger's representatives on Monday. The 32-year-old infielder batted .325/.367/.439 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 2012 for the Rays and would be an ideal stop-gap option at third base. It's worth noting that he is currently rehabbing from a broken right fibula, but he's expected to be ready for spring training.

Keppinger, who turns 33 in April, batted .325/.367/.439 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 2012 for the Rays. The Yankees have also reportedly expressed interest in using him as a super-sub.

Jeff Keppinger recently suffered a broken right fibula when he tripped down the stairs at his house. It's brutal timing for the 32-year-old free agent, who was just beginning to attract heavy interest. Keppinger should be fine for the start of spring training, but the freak injury is sure to hurt his bottom line. He batted .325/.367/.439 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 2012 for the Rays.
