Opening Day Observations rotoballer.com Fri 3/29/19 8:45 AM

When are we going to finally get around to making MLB Opening Day a national holiday? I can tell you the only thing that kept me from calling in sick was the fact that technology allows me to stream live games in HD on my cell phone while I sit at my desk waiting until I can run home to sit in front of the big screen. For those who weren't lucky enough to catch most of the action or simply want a neatly condensed recap, RotoBaller is here to help. J.B. Shuck Designated For Assignment rotoballer.com Thu 7/5/18 8:26 AM

Miami Marlins outfielder J.B. Shuck has been designated for assignment on Thursday. This move is in anticipation of Garrett Cooper being activated from the 60-Day Disabled List. The 31-year-old has hit for a .192 average so far in 2018, and it is unsure if another team will pick Shuck up. The veteran has been in the league since 2011, and owns a career .244 average while playing for five different teams.

Nearly two months after his last multi-hit performance, Miami Marlins outfielder J.B. Shuck had four hits in the Marlins loss on Thursday against the Giants. Shuck finished 4-for-7 with two doubles and a run scored. While it's nice to see him hitting again, Shuck has no fantasy value at all right now, even in the deepest of NL-only leagues.

Brian Anderson Out of Lineup Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 4/28/18 12:50 PM

After making his first start in the outfield on Friday night, Brian Anderson is out of the Miami Marlins lineup on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. This appears to be nothing more than a day off for Anderson, who had started in all 25 of the Marlins' games this season. With Anderson out, J.B. Shuck will start in right field against German Marquez. Look for Anderson to return to the lineup for tomorrow's series finale against Colorado.

In his first action since 2016, Miami Marlins outfielder J.B. Shuck knocked four hits as part of a 7-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. Shuck, who was called up from Triple-A New Orleans before Friday's game, went a perfect 4-for-4 and scored two runs in the win. With the Marlins' outfield struggling so badly at the plate, Shuck could see some more playing time going forward.

Common reasons for the struggles include Ryan Braun, Hanley Ramirez, Brandon Morrow, Joel Hanrahan, Derek Jeter, Sergio Santiago, Cameron Maybin, B.J. Upton etc. [...]
