Heyward went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk against the Diamondbacks in Saturday's loss.
EDGE Analysis
Heyward's lone hit brought some life to Los Angeles in the eighth inning, as his solo homer cut the Dodgers' deficit to five runs. The veteran outfielder is tied for the team lead with three homers despite logging just 16 plate appearances so far this season. Heyward is making a strong early showing in his first campaign in Los Angeles, slashing .308/.375/1.000 thus far.

Heyward went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
For the second day in a row, Heyward picked up a start in the outfield and came through with a home run, after previously connecting on a two-run blast in Monday's series opener. Though his production has been largely disappointing since he signed a $184 million contract with the Cubs in December 2015, the 33-year-old Heyward has gotten off to a nice start with Los Angeles after joining the team on a minor-league deal over the winter. He could be a candidate to see semi-regular starts versus right-handed pitching if he can continue to capitalize on his opportunities like he has the past two days.

Heyward is starting in right field and batting ninth Tuesday night against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Heyward draws a second consecutive turn in the Dodgers' starting lineup after going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three total RBI in Monday night's defeat of Colorado. Maybe he truly can rebound a bit offensively at age 33 in Los Angeles, but fantasy managers should largely remain skeptical at this point.

Heyward went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and an extra run scored during Monday's 13-4 victory over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Heyward drew his first start of the season with David Peralta getting a day off, and the veteran made the most of it by providing plenty of production at the bottom of the order. The Dodgers reworked Heyward's swing this offseason, and if he can get back to being at least an average hitter, his elite defense will make him a candidate for regular starts in Los Angeles' crowded outfield.

Heyward is starting in center field and batting eighth for the Dodgers in Monday's game against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
It will be the first start with his new team for Heyward. James Outman will shift over to left field while David Peralta receives a day off.

Heyward had his contract selected by the Dodgers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Heyward will back up all three outfield spots for the Dodgers but shouldn't be counted on for much offensive production after slashing just .204/.278/.277 across 151 plate appearances in his final season with the Cubs.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed Thursday that Heyward will be on the Opening Day roster, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The writing has been on the wall for much of the spring, and now it's official. Heyward offers very little offensive upside at this point in his career, but he can cover all three outfield spots for the Dodgers in what is certain to be a backup role.

Heyward is a "safe bet" to be on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster, manager Dave Roberts told Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It had already seemed like a good bet even before Gavin Lux's knee injury pushed Chris Taylor into more infield duty. The Dodgers aren't exactly settled in left or center field, so Heyward could actually wind up playing quite a bit. He's showed up to camp with a new swing and has already popped a couple Cactus League homers.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Heyward "absolutely" has a leg up in the competition for the final outfield roster spot, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Heyward made a significant swing change over the offseason, and Roberts noted that he liked how it looked during live batting practice Monday in camp. The 33-year-old accepted a minor-league contract from Los Angeles back in December after getting cut loose by the Cubs. He's slashed just .211/.280/.326 in 504 major-league plate appearances since the beginning of the 2021 campaign, but perhaps the Dodgers can work some of their magic on him in 2023.

Heyward made a significant adjustment to his mechanics at the plate over the winter, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The case against Heyward is easy to make: he's a 33-year-old non-roster invitee who owns an 88 wRC+ over the last seven seasons and a 67 wRC+ over the last two. The case in his favor no longer relies solely on stats from 2015 or earlier, however. He's found himself with an organization that has a reputation for improving its players, and it appears that work has already begun. There's no guarantee Heyward's swing change has the desired effect, but he's at least given himself a chance to remain relevant.
