Saltalamacchia is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Saltalamacchia was behind the plate when the Tigers and White Sox resumed Saturday's suspended game earlier Sunday, but he'll have off for the initially scheduled contest. James McCann steps in to spell Saltalamacchia, who had started the previous three games behind the plate.

Saltalamacchia went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run walkoff homer in Sunday's win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
After hitting six home runs in April, Salty has managed just a single homer in each month since and his declining production has reduced him to a bench role behind James McCann once again. Sunday's heroics may earn him a little more playing time in the short term, however.

Saltalamacchia went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Saltalamacchia was white-hot in April with six HR and 15 RBI, but has just two home runs, two doubles and nine RBI since the start of May. Salty is a solid backup, but his struggles the dish mean his playing time will be sorely limited going forward.

Saltalamacchia went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, his eighth blast of the year, and two RBI in Tuesday's matinee against Miami.
EDGE Analysis
The ex-Marlin filled the second half of a back-to-back job with Steven Moya in the fifth. He also added his fifth double of the season while raising his average nearly 20 points on the day (from .187 to .206). Although Wednesday's performance was nice, it doesn't change the fact that the switch-hitting catcher is having one of the worst seasons in his 10-year career, striking out in nearly 40 percent of his at-bats. Once expected to be a top fantasy catcher, Saltalamacchia is irrelevant in most formats these days.

Saltalamacchia is hitting .181 in 105 at-bats this season.
EDGE Analysis
Gulp. Salty actually has seven home runs so far this season, but just 19 hits in total. He's really struggled to find his groove at home, delivering a slash line of just .067/.250/.178 in 45 at-bats at Comerica. Salty is much better on the road (.267/.333/.633 in 60 AB), so he's a consideration in daily formats while away from Detroit.

Saltalamacchia went 2-for-5 with a homer, his seventh of the season, in Thursday's loss to the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The catcher was riding a six-game hitless streak entering Thursday's game, but found his stroke and blasted his first longball since April 23 (he hit six home runs in his first 12 games of the year). The switch-hitting 31-year-old has battled injuries his entire career, limiting him to less than 400 at-bats in all but two of his nine big league seasons. He's once again on pace to fall short of that mark, reducing his value to daily leagues only.

Saltalamacchia is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Saltalamacchia will sit in favor of James McCann for the third time in four games. While Saltalamacchia got off to a nice start with six homers in a little over two weeks, he's recorded just four hits in his last eight games and it looks like he will play second fiddle now that McCann is healthy.

Saltalamacchia is in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Saltalamacchia went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in his last start on May 1. His average is just .230 for the season but has shown solid power, posting six home runs and 16 RBI through 19 games.

Saltalamacchia is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Saltalamacchia will get the day off after starting five of the last six games. Over that stretch he is just 1-for-13, so a day off could help him get back on track offensively.

Saltalamacchia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Saltalamacchia has gone 0-for-9 over his past three games, dropping his average down to .229. After playing in the team's last 11 games (starting 10 of those), Saltalamacchia will give way to Bobby Wilson behind the plate.
