Taillon (3-0) earned the win over the Brewers on Saturday, allowing two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The bullpen allowed Milwaukee back into the game with five runs, though Hector Neris ultimately shut the door to preserve the win. Taillon's seven strikeouts Saturday set a new season high after he'd previously topped out at four Ks in an outing. Since returning from a back injury, Taillon has allowed just three earned runs with a 16:5 K:BB over 24 innings. Regression will come at some point, but Taillon will have a great chance to keep the good times rolling next weekend in Pittsburgh.

Taillon didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over 7.1 innings. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon was able to complete six innings for the first time this season and managed to exceed seven innings in just 78 pitches. Taillon's lone blemish came from the first batter he faced as Brandon Nimmo clubbed a solo home run in the first frame. The veteran righty has yet to yield multiple earned runs through three starts, owning an impressive 1.50 ERA. However, he's only been able to punch out nine batters in his 18.0 innings of work. Taillon is set to close out a two-start week with a matchup against the Brewers on Saturday.

Taillon (2-0) earned the win over Houston on Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon yielded a fair amount of baserunners, but he was unscored upon outside of a two-run third inning. The right-hander notched just five whiffs among his 89 pitches, though that didn't prevent him from picking up his second straight victory to begin the campaign. Taillon got a late start to the season after opening on the injured list due to a back injury, but he already seems to be settled in as a key piece of Chicago's rotation.

Taillon (1-0) earned the win Friday against the Marlins, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon certainly didn't show any signs of rust in his first start of the campaign, holding the Marlins to a lone run on a Bryan De La Cruz solo homer in the fourth inning. It's an encouraging effort from the 32-year-old Taillon, who went 8-10 with a 4.84 ERA in an inconsistent 2023 season. He's currently in line to face the Astros at home in his next start.

The Cubs reinstated Taillon (back) from the 15-day injured list Thursday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon would have made his season debut Thursday against Miami, however the game was canceled due to rain. The 32-year-old right-hander will now start Friday after making two rehab appearances, surrendering four runs (three earned) and striking out eight batters across 6.1 innings. Hayden Wesneski was optioned to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move.

Taillon (back) and the Cubs won't play the Marlins on Thursday due to inclement weather, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon had been scheduled to make his season debut Thursday, but rain will cause the 32-year-old righty to wait just a bit longer. Thursday's game will be made up with a doubleheader Saturday, and Taillon will presumably get a chance to start Friday.

Taillon (back) will be activated from the 15-day injured list and is listed as the Cubs' probable starting pitcher for Thursday's series opener versus the Marlins at Wrigley Field.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon might operate with some light restrictions in his season debut, as he was capped at 3.2 innings and 68 pitches in his second and final rehab start with Triple-A Iowa this past Friday. Ben Brown has delivered a pair of strong starts in his two outings as the No. 5 member of the Cubs rotation, but unless manager Craig Counsell elects to expand the rotation to six men or decides to bump veteran Kyle Hendricks out of a starting role, the rookie could lose out on a spot once Taillon is activated.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Taillon's (back) next start will be in the majors, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon went 3.2 innings and threw 68 pitches in his final rehab start Friday. The Cubs have not yet determined which day Taillon will pitch, but it could be as soon as Wednesday in Arizona or perhaps Thursday when they return home. Taillon has been sidelined with a back injury.

After pitching with Double-A Tennessee on Sunday, Taillon (back) will join Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday to continue his rehab assignment, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon threw 52 pitches over 2.2 innings with Tennessee on Sunday and gave up four runs on six hits and a walk. It wasn't a great performance, but he feels good enough to move up to Triple-A to continue his rehab. Taillon began the season on the 15-day IL after sustaining a lower-back injury in spring training.

Taillon (back) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk over 2.2 innings in his first rehab start with Double-A Tennessee on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Taillon struck out four and got his pitch count up to 52. From a results perspective, it's not the outing Taillon and the Cubs were looking for, but he'll get another rehab start or two to sharpen things up before rejoining the Cubs' rotation. Taillon didn't pitch at all during spring training due a strained back.
