Kennedy allowed two walks and struck out none in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy was tasked with protecting a one-run lead, and he managed to do so by working around two free passes while also hitting a batter. He's now recorded three saves since being acquired by the Phillies at the trade deadline, though he hasn't done so in the most effective fashion. After Thursday's outing, he's made six appearances for his new club, allowing five earned runs across 5.1 frames while striking out six and walking four. Even so, he's locked into the closer role and should get plenty of save chances before the end of the campaign.

Kennedy gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his 18th save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Mets. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies took a 5-0 lead into the ninth and didn't seem like they'd need Kennedy's services, but Mauricio Llovera created a save situation by serving up three solo shots. Kennedy has had a rough start to his tenure with his new club, getting scored upon in three of five appearances and posting a 10.38 ERA through 4.1 innings, but he's 2-for-2 in converting save chances.

Kennedy earned the save Friday against the Mets after allowing one run on one hit while fanning one across one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy entered the game when the Phillies had a 4-1 lead and even though he allowed a ninth-inning blast to Jonathan Villar, he still slammed the door while needing 21 pitches (15 strikes) to do so. This was his first save as a member of the Phillies, but he has gone 17-for-18 in save chances during the current season while playing for both Philadelphia and the Rangers. He also owns an excellent 1.09 WHIP through 35.2 innings on the year.

Kennedy was traded from the Rangers to the Phillies on Friday along with Kyle Gibson in exchange for Spencer Howard and two other prospects, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy has excelled this season as a closer, logging 16 saves with a 2.51 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. He will presumably step in as Philadelphia's full-time closer over the likes of Ranger Suarez, Jose Alvarado and Hector Neris.

Kennedy worked a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts to pick up his 16th save of the season in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy neutralized the latter part of the Arizona order to snap the Rangers' 12-game losing streak that dated back to before the All-Star break. Long strings of losses are usually bad news for closers from a fantasy perspective, and Kennedy is not immune to this scourge, as Tuesday marked his first converted save since July 9. The 36-year-old's name has been thrown around in trade talks, but a move away from Texas to a contender might mean Kennedy losing his status as a ninth-inning man.

Kennedy allowed two hits and struck out one over a scoreless eighth inning in Monday's 14-0 loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy is the Rangers' closer, but he hadn't pitched since July 10 and needed the work to keep his arm fresh. Unfortunately for those looking to Kennedy for saves, the Rangers have lost all four of their games since the All-Star break, including being shut out in three straight.

Kennedy struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 15th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the A's.
EDGE Analysis
While save chances have sometimes been hard to come by on a Rangers squad with a 35-53 record, Kennedy has been very effective in the closer role, and his only blown save on the year came back on May 21 The veteran hurler sports a 2.76 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB through 29.1 innings on the season, and he could be an enticing target for a contending club as the trade deadline nears.

Kennedy allowed two runs on three hits but recorded the save in Tuesday's 5-4 win over Oakland. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy had a three-run lead to work with and needed every bit of it to record his 14th save in 15 chances. He threw plenty of strikes -- 14 among his 18 pitches -- but caught too much of the plate and gave up home runs to Jed Lowrie and Mitch Moreland.

Kennedy earned the save Sunday against Kansas City after tossing a scoreless ninth inning, striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Kennedy notched his 13th save of the campaign and didn't have to work hard to accomplish that, as he tossed all seven of his pitches for strikes and closed the door effectively. He has now tossed four straight scoreless outings and has gone 13-for-14 in save chances this season.

Kennedy (illness) was not available to pitch in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Athletics, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Joely Rodriguez pitched the ninth inning in Kennedy's place, holding the Athletics scoreless and recording his first save. It remains to be seen whether Kennedy will be available in the bullpen for Thursday's series finale.
