EDGE Analysis
The veteran outfielder's seventh-inning solo shot was his first home run since he returned from the injured list July 16. Pence has stayed fairly productive despite the power outage, and on the season he's now slashing .299/.350/.573 with 16 homers and 53 RBI in 68 games.

Pence is expected to see his playing time diminish over the rest of the season, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rangers general manager Jon Daniels discussed the trades his team didn't make -- Pence and Mike Minor remain on the roster -- and said the Rangers value Pence's clubhouse presence. That said, Pence's 2019 renaissance will take a back seat to the development of young outfielders Willie Calhoun and Delino DeShields Jr.

EDGE Analysis
Pence will sit for the second time in three days while Shin-Soo Choo gets a day out of the outfield and replaces Pence as the Rangers' designated hitter. Since returning from the 10-day injured list July 16 following a month-long absence due to a groin issue, Pence has gone 10-for-37 (.270 average) with no home runs in 10 games.

Pence is not in Sunday's lineup against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
He admitted this weekend that he is still not 100 percent healthy since returning from the injured list after missing 23 games with a groin injury. Pence has been getting his starts at designated hitter in an effort to avoid the physical strain of playing the field. Shin-Soo Choo is starting at DH and leading off.

Pence said he's still not 100 percent after missing 23 games with a groin injury, Alyson Footer of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pence has played DH in the four games since his return from the injured list, and that may continue as he re-acclimates following his absence. He said the groin is improving as the Rangers kicked off a series with the Astros on Friday. "I haven't been able to run that fast until yesterday," Pence said Saturday. "It's still not 100 percent, but it was a lot better. The fact that it's getting better as I play, that's a good place to be."

Pence went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 9-2 loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Pence returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing a month with a groin injury. To make room for Pence, the Rangers sent Willie Calhoun back to Triple-A, which should alleviate any concerns of a crowded outfield limiting Pence's plate appearances.

Pence (groin) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will serve as the DH and No. 3 hitter Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Pence has been on the shelf since June 17, but after being given the green light during Monday's medical evaluation, he's back in the starting nine for Tuesday's matchup. He pieced together an incredible first half of the season at the dish, slashing .294/.353/.608 with 15 homers and 48 RBI over 55 contests, so the Rangers will be eager to get his bat back in the lineup.

Pence (groin) will undergo a medical evaluation Monday and is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Diamondbacks, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Pence reported no issues with his groin while playing each of the past four days with Double-A Frisco, so Monday's checkup is viewed as a formality more than anything else. Texas may be judicious in its initial usage of Pence in the outfield with him coming off a month-long absence due to the injury, but the designated-hitter spot presents a path for the All-Star to see steady at-bats once he's reinstated. Prior to landing on the IL, Pence was in the midst of a resurgent season, posting a .294 average and 15 home runs across 215 plate appearances.
