Conger is out of the lineup for Wednesday's matchup with the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conger has still been splitting time with fellow backstop Curt Casali. Casali will be in the lineup due to southpaw David Price starting on the mound for Boston. Conger has just four at-bats against left-handed pitching this season.

Conger is out of the lineup Sunday against the Astros, freelance Rays writer Roger Mooney reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conger's hitting has improved after a miserable start to the season, but he still has yet to firmly wrest away the everyday job from Curt Casali. He'll be sitting out for the fourth time in six games Sunday.

Conger is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Arizona, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Curt Casali will relieve Conger against left-handed starter Robbie Ray. Conger has been given just five plate appearances against left-handed pitching all year. Given his career .190/.312/.310 line against southpaws, there's no reason to expect that policy to change anytime soon.

Conger will start at catcher and bat eighth in the order Sunday against the Twins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Kevin Cash is rewarding Conger for his excellent day at the dish Saturday (2-for-3 with a double and solo homer) with his third straight start. The playing time at catcher has varied pretty wildly this season between Conger and Curt Casali, so it's tough to say with much confidence that Conger will continue to dominate the starts for much longer.

Conger is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees, freelance Rays writer Roger Mooney reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conger has begun to encroach on Curt Casali's hold on the primary catching duties, as he had started the previous two games. He had his best offensive performance of the season Saturday, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and his first home run. While Casali will get the starting nod Sunday, the at-bats between the two catchers could be fairly even during the upcoming week.

Conger went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and two runs against the Yankees on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Conger had only two hits in his previous games, so he broke out in a big way with his first multi-hit game of the season. Conger is known for his power, and he should gain a bit more value if he has a few more games like this one in the coming weeks.

Conger successfully threw out the Blue Jays' Ezequiel Carrera in the fifth inning of Sunday's 5-1 loss, ending a streak of 48 successful steal attempts against him, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran backstop had last cut down a runner on May 29, 2015, when he threw out the White Sox's J.B. Shuck. Conger, who went 1-for-3 in Sunday's game while hitting out of the ninth spot, also became the first Rays' catcher to throw out a base stealer this season. He'd made his defense a priority in recent sessions with catching coach Jamie Nelson, and the extra work paid off on the inning-ending put-out at second base. The 28-year-old's struggles in a Rays uniform have extended to his performance at the plate. He's slashing just .172/.200/.172 over his first 29 at-bats, with no extra-base hits or homers and only a single RBI.

Conger will bat ninth and catch Wednesday against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Conger has continued to struggle with his defense, allowing all 11 runners to steal off him, but Curt Casali has yet to throw out a runner either. Conger's also struggling at the plate, hitting just .182 in 22 at-bats this season. Regardless, he'll replace Casali in the lineup Wednesday.

Conger will bat ninth and start behind the plate Wednesday against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Confirming an earlier report, Conger will get the start behind the plate on Wednesday. Conger's defense will continue to be a problem and his bat has struggled too, giving the Rays few reasons to keep him in the lineup. He replaces Curt Casali in the lineup.
