Blanco is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco will head to the bench for Monday's series opener against the Nationals with a lefty in Gio Gonzalez toeing the rubber for the opposition. The veteran outfielder appears to have settled into the larger side of a platoon with Austin Jackson in center field thanks to his strong start to the season, so look for him to return to the lineup with righty Tanner Roark pitching for the Nats on Tuesday. Jackson is starting in center and hitting seventh in Blanco's stead Monday.

Blanco is starting his second consecutive game in center field while batting eighth in Friday's tilt against the Padres, according to Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group.
EDGE Analysis
Austin Jackson has been dealing with a minor groin injury, but recent playing time indicates that a platoon is forming in center field. The Giants faced a ton of left-handed pitching through the first couple weeks of the season, so Blanco wasn't afforded many starts despite batting .368 (7-for-19) to begin the year. The veteran outfielder will likely retreat to the bench for Saturday and Sunday's matchups against southpaws, assuming Jackson's minor groin injury has cleared up.

Blanco has made the Giants' Opening Day roster, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
After spending the 2017 season with the Diamondbacks, Blanco signed a minor-league deal to return to the Giants this offseason with the hopes of playing his way onto the major-league roster. The veteran outfielder's plans came to fruition Tuesday when he was informed he'll be making the Opening Day roster after going 10-for-32 with a home run and three stolen bases during spring training. He and Gorkys Hernandez will serve as the team's two reserve outfielders, at least until prospect Steven Duggar is summoned from Triple-A.

Blanco signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Monday, Chris Haft of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco is back with the Giants, who he played with from 2012-16, after spending the 2017 season in Arizona. Thanks to injuries to Yasmany Tomas and A.J. Pollock, Blanco appeared in 90 games for the Diamondbacks last season, hitting .246/.337/.357 with 15 steals, which isn't too far off from his career line of .257/.343/.350. The 34-year-old should push for a spot on the Giants' Opening Day roster as a reserve outfielder.

Blanco went 3-for-4 with two walks, three runs scored, an RBI and three steals in Sunday's 14-2 win over Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco stuffed the stat sheet in the season finale, pushing his stolen base total to 15 while raising his line to .246/.337/.357. The left fielder's performance here truly came out of left field, as he had just one hit since Sept. 3 coming in.

Blanco went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks, two runs and a stolen base in Monday's 9-2 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco filled in for David Peralta in the series opener against his former team with Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo electing to rest most of the team's everyday players after Arizona clinched a playoff spot over the weekend. Much like Peralta, Blanco did his part in reaching base twice, but with Arizona managing only seven hits on the night, the team wasn't able to keep Monday's game competitive. With the playoffs rapidly approaching, Lovullo probably won't want to run Peralta out into the field in each of the Diamondbacks' final five regular-season contests, so Blanco could pick up some additional starts this week.

Blanco went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and a run in Thursday's 7-0 win over the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
With David Peralta resting for the day game after a night game, Gregor Blanco took Peralta's normal spot atop the lineup and spurred the Diamondbacks' five-run first inning with a leadoff walk. Blanco went on to reach base twice more in the blowout win, but his solid showing isn't expected to earn him more at-bats, at least until the Diamondbacks' playoff position has been solidified.

Blanco went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two runs, a stolen base and an RBI in Thursday's 8-1 triumph over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Blanco closed out August with by far his best game of the month, as he had gone 5-for-38 with 17 strikeouts over his previous 18 appearances. The solid showing Thursday won't be enough for Blanco to overcome his tepid production over the last several weeks, so look for him to continue to serve in a bench role more often than not throughout September.

Blanco went 1-for-5 with an RBI and four strikeouts in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Making contact has never been a major issue for Blanco during his career, but he's whiffing at an uncommonly high rate in August, striking out in 16 of his 40 plate appearances. A.J. Pollock has endured similar woes at the plate in August, so manager Torey Lovullo may continue to look to Blanco or fellow reserve outfielder Rey Fuentes a couple times per week to see if either can spark the offense on days where Pollock is resting.

Blanco went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts in Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
With David Peralta (personal) on bereavement leave, Blanco entered the starting lineup for the third time in four games, manning the leadoff spot for the latter two contests. He wasn't able to take advantage of the increased at-bats, however, going 1-for-12 with seven strikeouts over those contests. Peralta has since rejoined the Diamondbacks and will reenter the lineup in Thursday's series finale, according to Christian Boutwell of MLB.com, forcing Blanco back into a bench role.
