Kratz went 1-for-3 with a two-run single in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Kratz continues to hit better since adjusting the prescription on his contacts, with all three of his RBI this season coming in the past week. Still, his .069/.069/.172 line suggests the catcher shouldn't be on your radar except in the deepest of leagues.

Kratz attributed his solo homer Monday to a recent prescription adjustment to his contact lenses, 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports.
EDGE Analysis
The catcher acknowledged that he's not a great hitter, but that he's better than what he's shown in 2016. Kratz could start another couple games while Chris Stewart recovers from a balky knee.

Kratz provided the only offense in Monday's 1-0 victory over the Giants, going 1-for-3 with a solo homer.
EDGE Analysis
Kratz defied all odds with his fifth-inning bomb off Madison Bumgarner. The light-hitting backup is just 3-for-47 this season, so this was likely his most important offensive contribution of 2016.

Kratz is in the lineup and batting eighth for Monday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Kratz is just 2-for-44 on the season and provides hardly any fantasy value or upside especially in a tough matchup with Madison Bumgarner.

Kratz is in the lineup and batting eighth for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Kratz is still searching for his first hit as a Pirate after going 0-for-3 in his debut against the Cardinals. He will have a tough matchup with Noah Syndergaard, and is unlikely to provide much fantasy value over the course of the season.

Kratz was traded to the Pirates for cash considerations Saturday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates have lost the services of primary catcher Francisco Cervelli for an extended period of time due to a broken hand, and Kratz will provide another veteran body behind the plate, potentially splitting time with Chris Stewart. However, he doesn't possess the offensive skill set to be worthy of ownership int he majority of fantasy leagues.

Kratz signed a minor league deal with the Angels on Thursday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kratz was previously released by the Astros in mid-May but will now join the Angels minor league system. He hit a measly .069/.100/.103 in 15 games with Houston and will hope a change of scenery proves beneficial.

Kratz was released by the Astros on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Evan Gattis is ready to rejoin the Astros after spending some time in the minors to work on his defense behind the plate. Gattis and Jason Castro will now split the workload, leaving Kratz without a spot on the roster.

Kratz, 35, made his first big league pitching appearance during Tuesday's 11-1 blowout loss to Seattle, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits during his lone inning of relief.
EDGE Analysis
Short on relievers coming into the game, the Astros were able to save their bullpen some work and use Kratz in relief when the game was out of reach in the eighth inning. The backup catcher threw 17 of his 27 pitches for strikes and even mixed in a few knuckleballs during his relief appearance.

Kratz went 1-for-3 with two strikeouts before he was removed for a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning during Monday's loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Kratz reached on a bunt single to third in the fifth inning for his first hit of the season in 17 at-bats. The veteran's time in Houston may soon be coming to an end, however, as Max Stassi (wrist) is scheduled to return in May and Evan Gattis will return to action behind the plate in the coming days.
