Ackley agreed to a minor league deal with the Angels on Saturday that includes an invitation to spring training.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old has fallen off quite a bit since being drafted No. 2 overall in 2009. He missed most of last season recovering from a torn labrum, but he struggled in the few appearances he was given. Ackley owns a career .241/.304/.367 line, and will likely serve as depth if he catches on with the Angels.

Ackley was released by the Yankees on Friday, Sweeny Murti of Sportsradio 66 WFAN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The former No. 2 overall pick will be looking for a new team after losing most of his 2016 to a torn labrum that required surgery. Ackley hasn't posted an above average OPS since his rookie year in 2011 while also moving into a corner role on defense, so he's strictly depth at this point for whichever team picks him up.

Ackley (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Ackley will miss the rest of the 2016 season and may have played his last game wearing pinstripes. He successfully underwent surgery Friday morning to repair his torn labrum in his right shoulder, which went well according to manager Joe Girardi. Ackley had battled a couple minor injuries in addition to the labrum during the 2016 season and will have the rest of the year to recover.

Ackley (shoulder) will have season-ending surgery on his torn labrum, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is yet another major blow to the Yankees' first base depth as Ackley was serving as Mark Teixeira's backup, and Teixera himself has not had a clean bill of health this season. Ackley's injury further magnifies the loss of Greg Bird, who was lost for the season with a torn labrum in February. The Yankees could plug Ronnie Torreyes in at first on occasion with Ackley done for the season, or they could give Brian McCann some starts there as well.

Ackley has been diagnosed with a torn labrum according to manager Joe Girardi, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ackley now faces the possibility of surgery after what was initially called a dislocated right shoulder. Considering that Ackley throws with his right hand, surgery to repair a torn labrum could very well end up costing him the 2016 season. It's yet another tough loss for the Yankees, who just recently managed to climb out of the cellar in the AL East. Look for an official announcement from the team if surgery is ultimately determined to be the best option.

Ackley was placed on the 15-day DL Monday due to a dislocated right shoulder.
EDGE Analysis
Ackley felt his shoulder "pop" in Sunday's loss to the Rays, and an MRI later revealed that is was dislocated. He'll land on the disabled list as a result, and the Yankees will call up infielder Rob Refsnyder to take his spot on the roster.

Ackley suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Rays and will undergo an MRI, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ackley said he felt his shoulder pop out when he dove back into first base while attempting to retrieve a pickoff throw, which resulted in the Yankees bringing the ailing Mark Teixeira (neck) into the game late as a defensive replacement. Manager Joe Girardi told the media that it's a "distinct possibility" that Ackley will have to head to the DL, but the Yankees won't make a decision on that front until the results of the MRI are read.

Ackley is in the lineup and batting sixth for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Ackley is hitting a lowly .163 with four RBI in 23 games this season and will give Mark Teixeira the day off to rest, but he doesn't appear to offer much fantasy value.

Ackley went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI and runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Ackley came up with a clutch hit to tie the score at six in the seventh inning, and the Yankees eventually pulled away for good after that. The 28-year-old has started to see regular playing time with both Alex Rodriguez and Jacoby Ellsbury nursing injuries, as Ackley has started in six straight games. He's hitting just .143, but the at bats figure to keep coming until the Yankees return to full health.

Ackley is starting at first base and batting seventh Tuesday against the Rangers, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
This marks the third time this season that Ackley will play first base for New York. With Alex Rodriguez (oblique) still on the shelf, Ackley could be in line for more time at first base if the Yankees opt to use Mark Teixeira as the designated hitter more frequently. This could help out Ackley's fantasy outlook going forward if he can garner enough starts at first base to become eligible there, although that greatly depends on how long Rodriguez is out and how the Yankees decide to utilize the designated hitter position going forward.
