Stubbs has just four at-bats this season, and has made contact in just one, grounding out in a pinch-hit appearance Monday. Unfortunately for Stubbs, the Rockies are projected to face just one left-handed starter over the next two weeks, and that's Clayton Kershaw. It's unlikely that he'll have many chances to snap out of the slump that began in spring training, when he struck out 25 of 50 plate appearances.

Stubbs is batting .242 with two home runs and a team-high 17 strikeouts in 33 Cactus League at-bats. The high strikeout totals will forever be a part of Stubbs' game, but he brings enough overall value with his ability to draw walks, supply pop, and steal bases. In addition, Stubbs is perhaps the Rockies' best defender in the outfield, which should at least allow him to receive plenty of run as a late-inning defensive replacement. More likely, he'll carve out an even more significant role as a potential platoon mate for either Corey Dickerson or Charlie Blackmon, neither of whom has been as successful against left-handed pitching as Stubbs has over his career.

Stubbs and the Rockies have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $5.825 million contract for 2015, Ben Nicholson-Smith of USA Today reports. Stubbs is the latest in a long line of players to enjoy a career year at Coors Field, as he hit career highs in all three triple slash stats (.289/.339/.482), stole 20 bases, and supplied his very strong center field defense. He just turned 30, but he should still be a good piece to consider for 2015

Stubbs went 2-for-3 with an RBI, walk and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks. It was only the third start in seven games for Stubbs, who has seen his at-bats tail off following the return of Michael Cuddyer from the DL. While Stubbs has managed to produce when in the lineup this year -- particularly at Coors Field -- he doesn't appear to be an especially attractive option in mixed leagues in the final week. With his at-bats on the decline and the Rockies playing three games each in pitcher's parks in San Diego and Los Angeles, Stubbs probably won't return much value.

Stubbs went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers. Perhaps no Rockies player has exhibited the value of playing at Coors Field better than Stubbs this season. After Tuesday's performance, he's slashing .353/.384/.617 at home compared to a dismal .210/.283/.317 on the road. The stark differential has also been reflected in his counting stats, as Stubbs has provided 12 of his 14 homers and 32 of his 41 RBI on the season at home.

Stubbs went 1-for-3 with a double, walk and stolen base in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to the Mets. He had the most offensive impact Wednesday for the Rockies, who were shut out by the Mets for the second consecutive night. Stubbs has started two of the three games since Michael Cuddyer (hamstring) returned from the disabled list Monday, and will likely have to contend with Charlie Blackmon for semi-regular duty in center field the rest of the way.

Stubbs is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Stubbs has started four of the past five games in center field for the Rockies, but will receive a regular day off Sunday afternoon. In his stead, Charlie Blackmon will move over to cover center field, while Ben Paulsen draws the start in right. Stubbs has hit safely in four of five games to start the month of September, and is slashing .289/.330/.480 on the season.

Stubbs smacked his 14th homer of the year off Padres starter Eric Stults on Friday, as he went 1-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI. While he's not an everyday player, Stubbs has certainly made the most of his at-bats as he's currently hitting .291 on the season - a career high. If Stubbs received a few more at-bats this year, he may have been in line for a 20/20 season. Keep in mind down the stretch that Stubbs has horrific home/road splits hitting .362 in Colorado and .209 away.

Stubbs is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Giants. Stubbs will take the day off Wednesday following a 2-for-4 night at the plate that included a stolen base and three runs scored. Charlie Blackmon will move to center and Ben Paulsen will enter the lineup in right for the Rockies on Wednesday, batting sixth.
