Stubbs was added to the Braves' roster Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
A non-roster invitee to camp, Stubbs will make the team as a backup outfielder, likely seeing most of his time in center after the team released Michael Bourn and Emilio Bonifacio.

Stubbs is competing for the final reserve spot on the Braves roster, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Outfielders Michael Bourn and Emilio Bonifcaio are also in the running for the roster spot. Stubbs has only been in camp for a couple of days, but his strong spring stats have him being considered for a roster spot. That being said, he could be left off if the Braves value the leadership skills of Bourn or Bonifacio's utility more than Stubbs' strong spring showing.

Stubbs signed a minor league contract with Atlanta, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs hit .324/.381/.541 in Rangers camp but couldn't break into their top five outfielders. He has been invited to the final days of Atlanta's major league camp, and the Braves outfield has lots of old bodies -- Nick Markakis, Michael Bourn and Jeff Francoeur are all well on the wrong side of 30. As such, even if Stubbs doesn't break camp with the Braves, it would be surprising if an opportunity for him doesn't arise at some point.

Stubbs was granted his release from the Rangers on Tuesday, Rangers Executive VP John Blake reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs will see if he can find a big-league deal, as he's apparently not slated to make the Rangers' Opening Day roster, despite posting a .324/.381/.541 slash line this spring. The 31-year-old Stubbs offers good speed and a strong track record against left-handed pitching, so he could draw some interest around the league.

Stubbs signed a minor-league deal with the Rangers containing a spring training invite, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Outside of a Coors Field-assisted outlier season with the Rockies in 2014, Stubbs' bat has always struggled to keep up with his well-regarded defense in center. He'll compete with Justin Ruggiano for the backup center field spot behind Delino DeShields Jr. on the major league roster, but it's much more likely he lands at Triple-A Round Rock.

Stubbs' contract was purchased from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Stubbs was once one of the best defensive center fielders in baseball, but his offensive abilities have really declined over the past three or four years. He should serve as the fourth or fifth outfielder for Texas down the stretch.

Stubbs smacked a solo home run in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Braves. Stubbs earned the rare start because a lefty in Alex Wood was scheduled to take the hill for the Braves, but the Rockies' lineup maneuver appeared to be spoiled when a two-hour, six-minute resulted in Wood's night ending after just two pitches. However, that didn't prevent Stubbs from coming through without the platoon advantage in his favor, as he teed off against righty reliever Jacob Brigham in the second inning for his fourth homer of the season. Alas, Stubbs would strike out in two of his other three plate appearances on the evening, a disconcerting trend that shouldn't result in a spike in playing time. Stubbs has struck out in a mind-boggling 52.1 percent of the time this season, the most of anyone in the majors -- pitchers included -- with at least 40 plate appearances.

Stubbs is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Angels. Despite hitting his third home run of the season Tuesday, Stubbs will be replaced in left field by Brandon Barnes on Wednesday against Matt Shoemaker.

Stubbs connected on his third home run of the season in Tuesday's 10-2 loss to the Angels. Stubbs' homer was the only extra-base hit the Rockies could muster against Andrew Heaney, whose steady performance in the place of Chad Bettis' early implosion allowed the Angels to run away with the victory. Though he earned a start Tuesday at the expense of Ben Paulsen and Brandon Barnes, Stubbs has a long way to go before he earns consideration for more frequent at-bats. He owns a .182 on-base percentage this season and has struck out in a startling 52.2 percent of his 67 plate appearances.

Stubbs was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Stubbs will likely serve a an additional outfielder while Corey Dickerson remains on the shelf, as Rafael Ynoa was sent down in a corresponding move. He's not in the lineup Thursday, but will be available off the bench.
