Smyly (3-3) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts in five innings to earn the win over Miami on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Smyly collected his first win since May 14, but it wasn't an easy outing. The southpaw needed 91 pitches (64 strikes) to get through five innings. The 32-year-old completed five innings for the seventh time in 11 starts this year. He has a 5.63 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 49:20 K:BB in 56 innings overall. Smyly lines up for a home start versus St. Louis next weekend.

Smyly allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings during Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Phillies. He had zero strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old threw 48 of 80 pitches for strikes and generated only five swinging strikes. Smyly is winless in his past four starts and has given up 16 runs (15 earned) with a 17:7 K:BB across 20 innings during that stretch.

Smyly didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Nationals, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw tossed 90 pitches (57 strikes) before exiting in line for his fourth loss of the year, but Atlanta tied things up in the seventh inning to take Smyly off the hook. He's still been tagged for 13 runs and five home runs over his last three starts (15.2 innings), and he'll carry a 5.98 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 46.2 frames on the season into his next outing.

Smyly (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up seven runs on five hits and a walk over 5.1 innings as Atlanta fell 9-5 to the Red Sox. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The night got progressively worse for the lefty as it went on -- Boston scored one run in the second inning and two in the fourth before things completely fell apart in the sixth. The disaster snapped a streak of three straight quality starts for Smyly, but he's been incredibly volatile all year, and in his eight outings he has four quality starts and four in which he got tagged for at least five earned runs. He'll carry a 5.95 ERA, fueled by a 2.76 HR/9, and a 37:14 K:BB through 42.1 innings into his next start.

Smyly allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven across six innings in the loss to the Pirates on Thursday. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Smyly posted a quality start despite allowing three runs on a pair of home runs. The 32-year-old threw 73 of his 109 pitches for strikes. It was his third straight quality start after he struggled to start the season. His seven strikeouts were a good sign, considering he hasn't had more than four punchouts since his season debut. He has a 5.11 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with 33 strikeouts in 37 innings. His next scheduled start is Wednesday in Boston.

Smyly (2-2) allowed one run on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Smyly yielded an RBI single to Luis Urias in the second inning but was never in much danger through the rest of his solid outing. After he was hammered for five runs in three straight starts, the 31-year-old lefty has allowed just one earned run over the last 12 innings. Smyly lowered his season ERA to 5.23 through 21 innings. He's currently lined up to face the Mets at home next week.

Smyly will pitch the series opener Friday against the Brewers, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran left-hander will be pitching on almost twice his normal rest and will face a lefty-heavy Milwaukee lineup. Smyly is coming off by far his best outing of the season, a six-inning performance with no earned runs May 6 against the Nationals.

Smyly (1-2) gave up an unearned run on four hits and four walks while fanning four across six innings Thursday against the Nationals. He earned the win.
EDGE Analysis
Smyly can't be blamed for the run scored by the Nationals while he was on the mound, as a fielding error from Ronald Acuna allowed Josh Bell to score on a double from Kyle Schwarber. The 31-year-old lefty was dominant the rest of the way, though, and he recorded his second quality start of the season. The walks are a bit concerning and he has posted a 11:10 K:BB over his last three outings. As things stand now, Smyly is expected to take the ball next week at home against the Blue Jays.

Smyly (0-2) took the loss in Friday's 13-5 rout at the hands of the Blue Jays, surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and four walks over four-plus innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
After two scoreless frames, the southpaw served up homers in three straight innings before getting the hook, digging a 6-0 hole Atlanta couldn't climb out of. Smyly has been tagged for six homers in his last two starts and nine long balls in only 19 innings on the season, sticking him with a bloated 8.05 ERA, but as yet there's been no indication his rotation spot could be in jeopardy.

Smyly (0-1) allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four across four innings to take the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Smyly did not have a good afternoon Sunday, making his first start in game two of the doubleheader since being reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Three different Diamondbacks' players went deep off him, including two in the first inning. The 31-year-old is struggling in his first three starts with a 7.20 ERA. The good news is that he has issued only three walks in 15 innings.
