Jennings leads the Rays with seven RBI over eight spring training games.
EDGE Analysis
The multi-tool outfielder has gotten off to his typical blazing-hot Spring Training start, slashing a .412/.882/1.303 line over 17 at-bats so far. Jennings is also tied with multiple other players for the team lead with one homer, adding to his already-impressive career .355 average in exhibition slates. The seven-year veteran had June arthroscopic surgery on the troublesome left knee that limited him to 28 games last season, but reported at full health this spring. If he can avoid the injury bug that has plagued him through his career, Jennings has an opportunity to serve as a solid source of extra-base hits, homers, RBIs and steals.

Jennings (mouth) signed a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Rays on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jennings underwent oral surgery on an infected tooth, and missed the ending of the season as a result. A multitude of injuries held him to just 28 games on the season, but the 29-year-old outfielder will likely serve as the team's left fielder again in 2016 if he can remain healthy. Barrins something unforeseen, he should be fine for the start of spring training.

Jennings (tooth) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jennings had been sidelined since late August with a knee injury, but he appeared to be on track to return to the team in the coming days. However, oral surgery on an infected tooth will end his injury-filled season prematurely. Brandon Guyer and Grady Sizemore will continue to get looks in left field for the Rays with Jennings out.

Jennings (knee) could return early next week, Roger Mooney of The Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jennings has been sidelined since being placed on the disabled list in late August, but it appears he is nearly ready to resume playing. Given his knee issues this season, and the fact there are only a couple weeks left in the regular season, Jennings may be limited to a part-time role upon his return.

Jennings (knee) is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Twins, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jennings was lifted from Tuesday's game after bruising his knee, and the team currently lists him as day-to-day. Starting in his place will be Grady Sizemore, who is flanked by Daniel Nava in right and Kevin Kiermaier in center.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Demond Jennings could be activated from the disabled list Tuesday after recovering from a knee injury, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Jennings completed a seven-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday, but the team is still unsure whether he will be activated Tuesday. The 28-year-old has not played for the Rays since April 25 due to a case of bursitis in his knee. He played four of the seven rehab games in left field, where he is likely to play upon his return to the major leagues, but his bat was quiet, as he collected just three hits in 21 at-bats. "The main thing is to make sure I was healthy and that I felt good running, playing," Jennings said. "Everything is good." Even if Jennings is not activated Tuesday, he should be expected to return by Wednesday.

Jennings (knee) hopes to begin a rehab assignment by August, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Jennings underwent a knee scope in early-June, and although he says his knee feels fine at this point, the outfielder has yet to be cleared for baseball activities. A late-season return remains optimistic at this point, as there are simply too many variables and potential obstacles in play.

Jennings (knee) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Sunday, Steve Carney of WDAE 620 AM reports. Jennings isn't expected to return until at least mid-August after undergoing a knee scope earlier in June, so the 60-day DL move won't alter his recovery timetable. Instead, it will allow the Rays to open up a roster spot for the recently signed Grady Sizmore, who had his contract purchased from High-A Charlotte ahead of Sunday's game against Boston.
