Carpenter was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports. Carpenter has been magnificent with Gwinnett this season, striking out 36 batters and posting a 0.73 ERA over 37 innings. He'll be rewarded for that performance with an appointment to the big leagues, but will need to curb his historical issues with command in order to earn a meaningful role in the Atlanta bullpen.
