The Japanese website Sanspo.com reports that the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Central League are trying to sign David Aardsma. Aardsma requested and was granted his released from the Marlins earlier this week, and it was evidently so that he could sign overseas. The right-hander has appeared in just one game at the big league level over the last two seasons due to Tommy John surgery.

Marlins released RHP David Aardsma. It's not clear whether Aardsma asked for his release. The 31-year-old latched on with the Marlins last month and posted a 2.57 ERA and 12/8 K/BB ratio over 14 innings with Triple-A New Orleans.

Yankees released RHP David Aardsma. Aardsma was designated for assignment by the Yankees on March 29 and apparently drew no interest on waivers. The right-hander will hope to get an offer soon.

Yankees designated RHP David Aardsma for assignment. Aardsma posted a 3.52 ERA and 7/2 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings this spring, but it wasn't enough to win a spot in the Yankees' bullpen. The 31-year-old is nearly two years removed from Tommy John surgery and hasn't had any issues with his elbow this spring, so we suspect he'll draw plenty of interest on waivers.

David Aardsma (groin) threw a bullpen session Saturday with no issues. Aardsma has made just two Grapefruit League appearances due to a groin strain, but it sounds like he's close to returning to game action. He'll obviously have plenty of time to get ready for Opening Day as long as he can avoid a setback.

David Aardsma (elbow) has already thrown four bullpen sessions and is expected to be on a normal routine during spring training. Aardsma appeared in just one game for the Yankees last season while working his way back from Tommy John surgery. He's nearly 19 months removed from the operation at this point, so the Yanks are expecting him to be back to his regular self. Aardsma was a weapon out of the Mariners bullpen from 2009-10, posting a 2.90 ERA while striking out over a batter per inning.

Yankees activated RHP David Aardsma from the 60-day disabled list. Aardsma has been sidelined since late in the 2010 season because of hip and elbow injuries. He will be used only in low-leverage relief situations down the stretch.

David Aardsma (elbow) will be activated from the disabled list Tuesday. Aardsma hasn't appeared in a major league game since September 19, 2010 following hip and elbow surgeries, but he'll provide some depth in the bullpen down the stretch. He's on the 60-day disabled list, which means the Yankees will have to clear a spot on the 40-man roster to activate him.
