Espinosa went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Monday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Espinosa didn't start Monday's game but was forced into action when Andrelton Simmons suffered a bruised left hand and right thumb when he was hit by a pitch in the first inning. Espinosa extended his hitless streak to 31 at-bats, and his average is down to an embarrassing .142 on the year. The 30-year-old has a whopping 41 strikeouts and only seven walks and is in danger of losing more playing time to Cliff Pennington at the keystone.

Espinosa is not in the lineup Monday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Espinosa will take a seat for the second time in three games as he finds himself in the middle of a brutal 2-for-46 (.043) slump at the plate. Cliff Pennington is starting at the keystone in his stead.

Espinosa is out of Saturday's lineup against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
He is in a brutal 2-for-44 (.045 average) funk at the plate, so he will get his third day off in the last nine games. Cliff Pennington is starting at second base and hitting eighth against righty Lance McCullers.

Espinosa is not in the Angels' lineup against the Mariners, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Espinosa is not in the lineup Thursday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Espinosa will start on the bench for just the third time all season, giving way to Cliff Pennington at second base. The 30-year-old is slashing just .195/.259/.351 through 77 at-bats this season, though he has collected hits in consecutive. He should be back in the lineup for the weekend series against the Rangers.

Espinosa is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Espinosa has gone 0-for-11 with five strikeouts over the last three games, so manager Mike Scioscia will give the veteran a rest for just the second time all season. Cliff Pennington will fill in at second base and bat ninth in the order.

Espinosa went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The three-strikeout performance drops Espinosa's average to just .200 on the season. Three of his nine hits on the year have been home runs, and he's been fortunate to have 12 RBI in 13 games. The soon-to-be 30-year-old has an ugly 17 strikeouts to just one walk. You'll have to live with his high strikeout rate and low batting average in order to utilize his pop at the keystone.

Espinosa went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three RBI during Thursday's loss to Texas.
EDGE Analysis
At this point of his career, you know what you're getting from Espinosa. The 29-year-old infielder has ample pop, decent speed and an excellent glove, but he struggles in the batting average and on-base percentage columns. With full-time at-bats, Espinosa should approach last year's career-high 24 home runs and 72 RBI, though.

Espinosa went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in a comeback victory over the Rangers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran's homer sparked a three-run rally off of Rangers closer Sam Dyson that pushed the game into extra innings. The three-hit performance saw Espinosa's batting average jump from .130 to .214. The 29-year-old has historically been an all-or-nothing power hitter, and he has done nothing to shake that label with his new club. As long as fantasy owners can stomach his low-200s batting average, it is tough to find a cheaper source of 20-homer potential from a middle infielder.

Espinosa is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
Cliff Pennington will make his season debut Thursday with Espinosa getting the afternoon off against Oakland's Andrew Triggs. Espinosa is just 2-for-11 to start the year, but he's made the most of them with five RBI.
