Dane De La Rosa (forearm) is aiming to rejoin the Angels' bullpen for their April 11-13 series versus the Mets. De La Rosa, who is nursing some forearm inflammation, appeared in minor league games Thursday and Sunday and will throw a simulated game Tuesday. Barring a setback, he'll be helping to set up for Ernesto Frieri soon.

Angels placed RHP Dane De La Rosa on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 21, with right forearm inflammation. De La Rosa has been pitching in minor league games but simply didn't have enough time to get ready for the season. He could return in early April.

Dane De La Rosa (forearm) is expected to begin the season on the disabled list. De La Rosa returned to action in a minor league game on Wednesday, but there simply isn't enough time for him to be ready for Opening Day. However, there's a chance he could be activated when he's first eligible in early April.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Saturday that Dane De La Rosa (forearm) will need to pitch in more than one game to be ready for the regular season. That means in all likelihood that he'll begin the season with a backdated stint on the disabled list, and not be available to the Angels until the second week of the season. Once healthy, he's expected to function in a setup role for Ernesto Frieri.

Dane De La Rosa (forearm) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday in Angels camp. De La Rosa suffered a right forearm strain in an early-March Cactus League game, but he feels much better now and told reporters that he only needs one more live appearance in order to be ready for Opening Day. The right-hander is expected to serve as a setup man this summer to Angels closer Ernesto Frieri.

Dane De La Rosa (forearm) is expected to resume throwing in 2-3 days. De La Rosa was diagnosed with a right forearm strain last week and will be eased back into a throwing program. The Angels expect him to be alright, but forearms can be tricky. It's up in the air as to whether he'll be ready for Opening Day.
