The Phillies released Thomas on Tuesday, the Easton Express-Times reports. Thomas was receiving inconsistent playing time at Triple-A Lehigh Valley since returning from broken ribs last month. He will look for a minor league deal with another club.

Phillies signed OF Clete Thomas to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Thomas batted just .214/.290/.307 this past season for the Twins. He has extensive big league experience, though, and might have a shot at an Opening Day bench job.

Clete Thomas went 0-for-3 on Wednesday, extending his streak of games without an RBI to 44. Thomas has gone 131 at-bats since he last drove in a run on July 28. Of course, he's not really paid to drive in runs, but given that he has a .291 OBP and he's 1-for-4 stealing bases, we're have a hard time telling exactly what it is he's being paid for.

Clete Thomas went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts against the Indians on Monday. Thomas has hit .175 with no RBI and 17 strikeouts in 40 at-bats this month. He's hit .179 with one homer and six RBI in 117 at-bats since the beginning of July. He's the Twins' starting center fielder anyway, but he's a big liability.

Clete Thomas homered, singled in a run and robbed Chris Iannetta of a three-run homer Monday in the victory over the Angels. Thomas was at least as the deserving of the win as Samuel Deduno tonight. In truth, he's a liability as a starting corner outfielder, which is how the Twins have been treating him with Aaron Hicks back in the lineup. But he sure did excel in this one. He's currently hitting .236/.309/.374 with four homers and 11 RBI in 123 at-bats.

Clete Thomas went 4-for-4 with two RBI as the Twins rallied to beat the Phillies 4-3 on Wednesday. You read that correctly. The reserve, who was just 1-for-13 in the five games since being recalled entering Wednesday, doubled twice and scored the winning run in the eighth inning. He was hitting .296/.385/.576 with nine home runs for the Twins' Triple-A affiliate before being recalled, so it's not as though he's incapable of producing, but nights like Wednesday come few and far between for the 29-year-old these days.

Twins purchased the contract of OF Clete Thomas from Triple-A Rochester. Thomas has spent all season with the Twins' Triple-A affiliate and was batting .296/.385/.576 with nine home runs over 36 games. The 29-year-old will provide depth at all three outfield spots.

Twins re-signed OF Clete Thomas to a minor league contract. Thomas surprisingly made the Tigers' Opening Day roster last season, but struggled mightily with the Twins after being claimed off waivers. The 29-year-old outfielder will serve as veteran insurance in the minors.

Twins sent OF Clete Thomas outright to Triple-A Rochester. Thomas was designated for assignment Friday but has cleared waivers and will remain with the organization. Given his woeful performance with the Twins, it's unlikely we'll see him again anytime soon.
