Bassitt (3-5) earned the win Wednesday over the Phillies, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
It was an impressive outing from Bassitt, as the right-hander limited a powerful Phillies offense to just three hits to snap a three-start losing streak. It's been an inconsistent start to the year for Bassitt though he seems to be rounding into form of late, delivering back-to-back quality starts. He lowered his ERA to 5.06 with a 1.55 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB across his first 42.2 innings this year. Bassitt's currently lined up for a road matchup against the Orioles in his next outing early next week.

Bassitt (2-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings as the Blue Jays fell 6-1 to the Royals. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran righty took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but a leadoff double by Kyle Isbel kicked off a three-run frame for Kansas City, and with Seth Lugo also pitching extremely well, Bassitt had no margin for error. He tossed 62 of 92 pitches for strikes in his third quality start of the season, but Bassitt will carry a shaky 5.45 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 34:18 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Philadelphia.

Bassitt (2-4) took the loss Friday against the Dodgers, allowing seven runs on nine hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Bassitt allowed a solo home run to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning before imploding in the third, where he allowed another six runs on six hits, with the big blow coming on a Max Muncy three-run homer. It's been a rocky start to the year for the 35-year-old Bassitt -- his ERA is up to 5.64 with a 1.85 WHIP and 30:17 K:BB across six starts (30.1 innings). He'll look to right the ship in his next outing, currently slated for next week against Kansas City.

Bassitt (2-3) took the loss Sunday against the Padres after allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out four in 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bassitt allowed an unearned run off an error in the opening frame before Xander Bogaerts got a hold of one in the third. Bassitt battled into the sixth but would exit early after allowing a one-out walk and a single, with both runs eventually coming around to score. Bassitt mentioned after the game that he and about 20 other members of the Blue Jays are battling a sinus infection right now and he tried to fight through it as best he could but noted he didn't have his best stuff, per Kyle Glaser, a sports media professional at USC's School of Business. The 35-year-old now owns a 3.90 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 26:14 K:BB in 27.2 innings and lines up for a start against the Dodgers his next time out.

Bassitt (2-2) earned the win Monday, allowing one run, four hits and two walks over 6.1 innings against the Yankees. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Bassitt cruised to his second win Monday night, relying on an eight-pitch mix to keep Yankees hitters off-balance all evening. The only blemish of the night came in the second inning when Oswaldo Cabrera knocked an RBI-single through the infield. Bassitt is lined up to pitch against the Padres on the road in his next start.

Bassitt (1-2) picked up the win in Tuesday's 5-3 victory over the Mariners, allowing one run on five hits and four walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander wasn't exactly sharp and threw 115 pitches (72 strikes), but Bassitt has a shutout going until he served up a solo shot to Dominic Canzone in the seventh inning. After issuing a career-high 59 walks in 2023 over 200 innings, Bassitt's had genuine control issues to begin the current campaign, and through his first 16 innings he has a 17:9 K:BB to go along with a 5.06 ERA. He'll look to rein in the free passes in his next start, which lines up to come this weekend at him against the Rockies.

Bassitt (0-2) took the loss against Houston on Wednesday, allowing four runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Bassitt began his outing with two scoreless frames before giving up a run in each of the third and fourth innings. He remained in the game to begin the fifth and allowed the first two batters to reach base, and both came around to score after the right-hander departed the contest. Bassitt was a steady part of Toronto's rotation in his first year with the club last season, posting a 3.60 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 200 innings. However, his 2024 campaign has gotten off to a sour start, as he's posted a 7.71 ERA and 2.14 WHIP over 9.1 frames while dropping each of his first two outings.

Bassitt (0-1) took the loss Friday against the Rays, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Two errors behind him by Bo Bichette did Bassitt no favors, but most of the damage off the veteran right-hander came when he left a cutter over the middle of the plate in the third inning and Brandon Lowe crushed it for a grand slam. Bassitt threw 95 pitches (63 strikes) and generated an impressive 31 called or swinging strikes, but after serving up 28 homers in 200 innings last season -- both career highs -- his ability to keep the ball in the park is worth monitoring in 2024.

Bassitt struck out nine batters in 5.1 innings during Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates, allowing one run on three hits and a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander faced a Pittsburgh lineup that only included a handful of regulars, but aside from a solo shot by Oneil Cruz in the sixth inning, Bassitt had little trouble carving up the opposition. He built up to 73 pitches (47 strikes) and looks just about ready for Opening Day, having posted a 14:1 K:BB through 14.2 spring innings. Should Kevin Gausman (shoulder) not be quite ready when the regular season begins, it's not out of the question that Bassitt takes the mound for the Blue Jays' opener.

Bassitt gave up three runs on three hits over three innings in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against Atlanta. He struck out one without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Jordan Luplow got hold of a fastball that Bassitt left over the heart of the plate in the first inning and launched a two-run homer, but the veteran right-hander settled down after that. Bassitt tossed 32 of 46 pitches for strikes in his first start and second appearance of the spring, and he appears on track to be ready for Opening Day after working a career-high 200 innings in 2023, posting a 3.60 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 186:59 K:BB. The 35-year-old is being counted on for similar numbers this season as one of Toronto's mid-rotation stalwarts behind ace Kevin Gausman.
