The Dodgers released Lee on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old righty had spent the entire season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he posted a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB in 25.1 innings. With a promotion to the big club not imminent, Lee likely chose to opt out of his minor-league contract in pursuit of an opportunity with another organization.

Lee was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports. The right-hander made his season debut with Cleveland on Friday, allowing one run on two hits in two-thirds of an inning against Detroit. Lee was sent right back down to make room for Scott Atchison (ankle), but figures to get another opportunity when the Indians find themselves in need of a fresh arm.

Lee was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, the Northeast Ohio Media Group's Paul Hoynes reports. A lifetime reliever, Lee has posted a 11.35 K/9 ratio at Triple-A and has a 2.35 ERA to match. Lee will be recalled from Triple-A Columbus prior to Thursday's game. Lee will take the roster spot of Danny Salazar, who was optioned to Triple-A following an underwhelming start Wednesday. During previous stints with the club, Lee allowed six earned runs over 12.2 innings, with a 13:4 K:BB ratio. He'll serve a similar role in middle relief this time around.
