Ruiz is out of Saturday's lineup against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
After getting a start on Yasmani Grandal's day off Friday, Ruiz is back to the bench, where he will be more often than not down the home stretch. While neither catcher is hitting the cover off the ball, Ruiz's .200 batting average since mid-August won't move him up the depth chart.

Ruiz is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz will make his Dodgers debut Friday evening when Los Angeles hosts the Cubs. Ruiz is hitting a respectable .261/.368/.352 for the year, but has gone just 2-for-12 over the last seven days.

Ruiz was traded to the Dodgers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz had been mostly phased out of a regular role behind the plate in favor of Cameron Rupp, but the veteran has still been somewhat productive when given the chance, with a .261 average and .368 OBP. The Dodgers sent their backup catcher A.J. Ellis to Philadelphia as part of the deal, so Ruiz figures to slot into a similar role behind Yasmani Grandal down the stretch run of the season.

Ruiz went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored in a 6-5 win over the Padres on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz was making just his 11th start since July 1. He has been fairly productive when given an opportunity, but he is not going to see more than a start or two a week with Cameron Rupp playing well. His playing time could be further reduced next month if the Phillies bring up one of their young catchers for some exposure to major league pitching.

Ruiz went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz has made just four starts in the month of July, but has hits in each of those games. Manager Pete Mackanin said last month that he was going to cut back a bit on Cameron Rupp's playing time due to issues with his game calling, but that has not materialized. Ruiz is a candidate to be traded this month or perhaps in August should a playoff-bound team need catching depth.

Ruiz will start Sunday in order to catch for Aaron Nola, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelpia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Pete Mackanin is hoping Ruiz can help Nola turn things around after going 0-3 with a 15.83 ERA over his last three starts. If Nola has success it might help Ruiz pick up some additional playing time as he would likely be paired up with Nola moving forward. He has also recently become Jared Eickhoff's personal catcher.

Ruiz is in the lineup and batting sixth for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Matt Gelb of the Philly Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz will get the start in place of Cameron Rupp, but his lack of consistent playing time makes him a questionable fantasy option. The 37-year-old is hitting .225 with three home runs and seven RBI through 25 games this season.

Ruiz is in the lineup and will bat sixth for Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz will face right-hander Justin Verlander while Cameron Rupp gets a rest. He has had two career at-bats against Verlander, and collected one walk. Ruiz has gone without a hit in his past three games played.

Ruiz is in the lineup and batting fifth for Tuesday's game against the Braves, Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ruiz is 0-for-8 in his last two starts but remains at a respectable .286 average with three home runs through 13 games played.

Ruiz is not in the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Reports of late had indicated Ruiz could be in line for further playing time, but that won't be the case for Sunday's matinee affair. Cameron Rupp will get the start behind the plate, batting cleanup in place of the resting Ryan Howard. Ruiz has offered a higher batting average (.286) and more home runs (3) than Rupp this year, though one can understand why the Phillies would lean towards developing the younger Rupp, as Ruiz is nearly a decade his elder.
