Carlos Corporan hit a three-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Rangers. The three-run shot off Rangers reliever Justin Germano was icing on the cake on a night the Astros dominated their division rivals. The homer was Corporan's fourth this season in 44 at-bats. Unfortunately he hasn't hit much else -- he's hitting just .159/.191/.432 on the year.

Carlos Corporan belted a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Angels. It was one of just four hits the Astros mustered for the day and the only run they could come up with. Corporan has shown a little pop for a backup catching, as he hit seven homers in 210 plate appearances last season. Still, he doesn't play enough to have fantasy value even in the deepest of leagues.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said Carlos Corporan (concussion) could return to the field later this week. Corporan took a foul ball of his facemask on Aug. 19 and has been sidelined since. Fellow backup catcher Max Stassi sustained his own concussion a few days later and is also the on the 7-day disabled list. "Corporan is further along than Stassi, and hopefully we'll get Corporan into game situations later this week, either it's with an affiliate or in Houston," Luhnow said. "We're feeling optimistic he'll be back in competition later this week. Stassi has one more hurdle left and until he clears that milestone we're in a holding pattern." Starter Jason Castro suffered a knee injury Monday, leaving Cody Clark and recently-acquired Matt Pagnozzi as the club's only healthy backstops.
