Rondon was officially placed on the paternity list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
News of the impending move surfaced over the weekend, but the Tigers opted to wait until Monday morning to make it official. Per league rules, Rondon will be forced to miss at least one game but no more than three, so he'll sit out Monday against the Mariners before potentially returning Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. In a corresponding move, the Tigers have recalled Daniel Norris from Triple-A Toledo, and he's expected to take the hill Tuesday night.

Rondon will be placed on the paternity list Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
To replace Rondon, the Tigers will call up Daniel Morris from Triple-A Toledo. Morris will start Tuesday for the Tigers, who placed Jordan Zimmerman (back) on the disabled list Saturday night.

Rondon picked up the win Saturday against the Blue Jays. He allowed one hit (a home run) and one earned run in 1.0 innings of work.
EDGE Analysis
He was dinged with a blow save after giving up a long ball to Devon Travis. Rondon has looked a bit rattled his last two outings and has surrendered three hits, including two home runs, in his last 2.0 innings. His new-found maturity should help him re-stabilize his game after these two home runs and when it does, Rondon should get back on track to prove he's finally becoming the guy the Tigers have always thought he'd be.

Rondon lost 15 pounds while he was in Triple-A and has developed a new delivery that has reduced the number of walks he has given up and increased his velocity. He touched 100 mph with his fastball five times in 2.0 innings of work Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Gone is Rondon's exaggerated hip swing, replaced with a more straight-line delivery. And best of all, his attitude is a lot better than it was last September when he was sent home for his "effort level." Manager Brad Ausmus likes what he sees, especially after Rondon got three strikeouts in 2.0 innings Sunday. "If he continues to pitch like that, he could pitch the back-third of the game," said Ausmus. Get him on your fantasy radar -- holds could soon come Rondon's way if he continues like this.

Rondon was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Both Rondon and Kyle Ryan were brought in from the minors Sunday to offer fresh arms for an overtaxed bullpen. With a 3.74 ERA and 30:16 K:BB ratio over 21.2 innings, Rondon wasn't a standout contributor at Triple-A, so look for him to assume a low-leverage role during his stay with the Tigers.

Rondon's control continues to elude him in Triple-A.
EDGE Analysis
He delivered three hits, two runs, three walks and three strikeouts in just two innings on Thursday. Rondon's season isn't much better: 10 games, 10.2 innings, 12 hits, 10 walks and 14 strikeouts. He won't be back in Detroit any time soon.

Rondon (leg) was activated from the minor-league disabled list this week.
EDGE Analysis
Rondon missed over half of April with his leg injury, but he returned to the mound May 1, and has already appeared in three games this month. Rondon has posted a 4.91 ERA and 2.45 WHIP in his four outings this season, but he has 65 big league appearances under his belt, so he figures to be an option for the big league club at some point if he gets back on track.

Rondon (hamstring) was placed on the seven-day disabled list at Triple-A Toledo on Friday but manager Brad Ausmus said that he'll miss at least two weeks, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rondon suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday's batting practice session, and after two days of letting him try to work through it, the Tigers opted to place him on the disabled list Friday. Ausmus' comments suggest that Rondon will need to be shut down for at least two weeks before the team's medical staff reevaluates him. Until Rondon can get healthy again, the Tigers will have to make do with a largely patchwork bullpen.

Rondon strained his hamstring during batting practice Wednesday, John Wagner of the Toledo Blade reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how he sustained the injury, but he needed to be helped off by a trainer, which is not a good sign. There's no projection currently as to how much time (if any) Rondon will miss, but that should become clearer as details of the ailment surface.

Rondon was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rondon had a rough spring and still continues to be fairly inconsistent out of the Tigers bullpen. He'll likely return to the major leagues with his triple-digit fastball at some point in the season, but he'll have to work on getting more advanced hitters out even when he's not striking them out.
