Morrow picked up his third save of the season in Thursday's win over the Cardinals, pitching a perfect inning with one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
With the Cubs having a number of games rescheduled due to poor weather and playing just .500 ball to this point when they do take the field, Morrow hasn't gotten a ton of work. Still, he's converted all three of his save opportunities and has yet to allow a run across six innings of work. The weather will get better and the Cubs will likely start winning more as well, so if Morrow keeps pitching like this, he should be able to build up his saves total quickly.

Morrow picked up his second save of the season Sunday with a perfect inning of work against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Morrow now has saves the last two days, and he should continue to see a lot of opportunities if the team keeps playing well as expected, though it's possible he's unavailable Monday against the Pirates. Morrow hasn't reached 50 innings in a season since 2013, so the Cubs many monitor his workload, at least in the early going.

Morrow picked up his first save in a Cubs uniform in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Brewers. He allowed a hit in an inning of work and struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
This was just Morrow's second appearance of the season, and his first save opportunity, but there will likely be plenty more to come pitching for a strong Chicago team. The 33-year-old excelled as a setup man for the Dodgers last year, posting a 2.06 ERA and 50 strikeouts across 43.2 innings. If he performs like that again in 2018, Morrow could be one of fantasy's top relief options when you factor in his new ninth inning role.

Morrow allowed a walk-off hit to the only batter he faced in Friday's 17-inning, 2-1 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't the ideal way for Morrow to make his Cubs debut, as he entered the game in the bottom of the 17th inning with runners on first and second and two outs. Morrow promptly allowed a hit to Miguel Rojas, which brought home the winning run. There will be better days ahead for the new Cubs closer, particularly when he's not entering a game with two runners already on base.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon believes Morrow can be just as successful as the team's last two closers, Aroldis Chapman and Wade Davis, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrow has just two saves over the last eight years as he's primarily served in a setup capacity, but the organization has high hopes for the 33-year-old in his new role. "Stuff-wise, my God. I don't want to say he has better stuff because (Chapman and Davis) are so good," Maddon said. "But equally as good of stuff, talking velocity and the breaking ball." Morrow doesn't have the track record of other top closers, but it sounds like he has a chance to post good numbers with a Cubs team that should win plenty of games.

Morrow is expected to make his first spring appearance Tuesday, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was originally reported that Morrow had a chance to start Monday, but later revealed he was not on the list to pitch. The Cubs seem to be limiting the appearances of their soon-to-be closer after Morrow had a deep postseason run in 2017, but he should still log a handful of tune-up appearances prior to the beginning of the regular season.

Morrow said he expects to make his Cactus League debut Monday or Tuesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrow had a heavy workload last fall as the Dodgers made their run to Game 7 of the World Series, so the plan for him this spring has been to ease him into action. The new Cubs closer is expected to make five or six appearances before the regular season begins.

Morrow, who has not yet appeared in a spring training game, should get around five to six appearances before the Cubs break camp, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrow is not injured, but the Cubs are being careful with their new closer to begin the spring because of the heavy workload he had with the Dodgers last fall during their World Series run. Over the past two seasons, Morrow has accrued a 1.96 ERA (2.30 FIP) and 58:12 K:BB across 59.2 innings , and if he can handle the pressure of moving to the ninth inning, he should put up strong fantasy numbers on a Cubs team that will likely give him plenty of save opportunities.

Cubs general manager told 670 The Score Chicago on Wednesday that Morrow will be the team's closer this season. "We think he's got electric stuff. He's at the point in his career where he's figured it out."
EDGE Analysis
After the Cubs let incumbent closer Wade Davis walk in free agency, it was widely presumed that Morrow, who inked a two-year deal with Chicago in December, was the heavy favorite to fill the void. Epstein's comments erase any doubt that Morrow will have to compete for the role in spring training with the likes of capable setup men in Carl Edwards, Pedro Strop and Steve Cishek, which should give fantasy owners some peace in mind in investing in the 33-year-old right-hander. Though Morrow has a shaky track record on the health front, he's been dynamite since converting to full-time relief duty in 2016. Over the past two seasons, Morrow has accrued a 1.96 ERA (2.30 FIP), 58:12 K:BB and has allowed just two home runs across 59.2 innings with the Padres and Dodgers, settling into a key setup role for the latter club in its run to the World Series last fall. While his lack of closing experience shouldn't be completely dismissed, Morrow's big fastball and recent track record of success in high-leverage situations should result in a rather smooth transition to the ninth inning.

Morrow is seen as the Cubs' would-be closer, barring further offseason additions, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wittenmyer goes on to say that the Cubs are keeping the door open for an affordable Wade Davis reunion, in which case Morrow would move to a setup role. Even if the Cubs don't add another closer between now and Opening Day, Morrow would be a shaky fantasy option, given his injury history and the presence of Carl Edwards Jr. and Justin Wilson, who are also very capable options for the ninth inning. Morrow notched a 2.06 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 43.2 innings as a setup man with the Dodgers last season.
