According to the Braves, Brandon Beachy left Saturday's game with a reocurrence of right elbow soreness. Beachy will be evaluated further on Sunday but is probably destined for a trip to the 15-day disabled list. Kris Medlen would likely take his place in the Braves' starting rotation if an extended absence is needed.

Brandon Beachy has left Saturday's game against the Orioles in the fourth inning with an apparent elbow injury. Beachy has been dealing with discomfort in his right elbow, and it appears that it was acting him and the cause of his early exit in this one. The trainer came out to check on him after walking Chris Davis in the fourth, and they determined he was unable to continue. Anthony Varvaro replaced Beachy in the game.

The Braves plan to give Brandon Beachy extra rest before his next scheduled start. Beachy recently felt some slight discomfort near his right elbow. While he isn't too concerned about the situation, the Braves plan to take advantage of a chance to give him some extra rest. With Tim Hudson scheduled to make the start on Wednesday and a scheduled off day on Thursday, Beachy will either pitch Friday on six days' rest or Saturday with a full week's rest.

Brandon Beachy pitched well against the Blue Jays on Friday, though he didn't factor into the decision. Beachy struck out six and allowed only two runs. He left the in line for the victory before his bullpen surrendered the lead in the eighth inning. Both of the runs Beachy allowed scored in the sixth inning, as Jose Bautista homered and J.P. Arencibia plated a run with a fielder's choice. Beachy is off to a terrific start to his sophomore season with a 5-4 record, 1.98 ERA and 63/28 K/BB ratio through 77 1/3 innings.
