Blake Beavan was hit hard by the Brewers, allowing seven runs in 5 2/3 innings during Wednesday's start. Beavan allowed four home runs in the outing, giving up eight hits overall along with two walks while striking out four. The Mariners have suffered some losses in the rotation, so Beavan is attempting to pitch his way into the mix, but outings like this will certainly scare the Mariners.

Blake Beavan allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings against the D'Backs in Thursday's start. Beavan allowed five hits and struck out four in the effort. With recent injuries within the starting rotation, Beavan can temporarily pitch his way in by pitching well in the latter half of March.

Blake Beavan pitched well in Saturday's Cactus League victory over the Dodgers, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits over his three frames. Beavan walked one and struck out a pair on the night. The 25-year-old had a very disappointing 2013 season, but with the dearth of injuries to the Mariners rotation has a shot to crack the Opening Day roster with a strong showing in Arizona.

Blake Beavan allowed one run over three innings in Monday's 8-1 victory over the Rockies on Monday. Beavan allowed four hits without issuing a walk or recording a strikeout. He will start the year with Triple-A Tacoma but a solid spring could bump his name closer to the top of the list if the Mariners happen to need a substitute during the season. Beavan struggled at both levels last season.

Mariners optioned RHP Blake Beavan to Triple-A Tacoma. Beavan owns an ugly 6.13 ERA over two starts and 10 relief appearances with the Mariners this season, though his 27/8 K/BB ratio in 39 2/3 innings is pretty decent. He should get another shot in the Mariners' bullpen at some point during the second half.

Mariners recalled RHP Blake Beavan from Triple-A Tacoma. Beavan will be available to eat innings if need be after Wednesday's 16-inning affair. He posted a 8.27 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 20 2/3 frames earlier this season with the big club.

Mariners optioned RHP Blake Beavan to Triple-A Tacoma. Beavan opened the 2013 regular season in the Mariners' starting rotation but got demoted to the bullpen after allowing a total of 10 earned runs in his first two starts. He didn't fare much better in long relief.

After getting knocked around in each of his first two starts of the season, Blake Beavan is being moved to the Mariners' bullpen. The recently acquired Aaron Harang will take his spot in the rotation. Beavan posted an 0-1 record and 7.59 ERA while allowing three home runs over his first two starts. He's likely to pitch in long-relief and mop-up duty, rendering him with absolutely no value in all fantasy formats.

Blake Beavan surrendered five runs -- four earned -- in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Astros. The Mariners doomed Beavan the moment they decided to move the fences in at Safeco, so hopefully they don't wait too long to upgrade. After two outings, Beavan is 0-1 with a 7.59 ERA and three homers allowed.

Blake Beavan has secured the fifth spot in the Mariners' rotation. Beavan hasn't been overly impressive this spring, posting an 8.52 ERA in five appearances, but the Mariners ultimately chose him over Erasmo Ramirez. We have our doubts about how long he'll stick in the rotation, so don't invest heavily in fantasy leagues, even in AL-only formats.
