Butler has also reached base safely in 15 out of 17 contests dating back to Aug. 30 and is now smashing opposing pitching to the tune of a .368 average this month.

After a brutal first five months to the season, Butler has caught fire in September, hitting .388 with a 1.106 OPS in 49 at-bats. Understandably, many owners grew frustrated and dropped Butler, but he could be a nice free agent add to try and ride the hot streak for the final stretch run of the season.

Butler will take a seat once again without a designated hitter spot available Sunday, sitting for the entire weekend series. With the team's return home Monday, Butler should return to the lineup.
