Simon has been moved to the Cincinnati bullpen, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Simon had been pencilled in as Monday's starter, bu manager Bryan Price will instead turn to the 25-year-old Daniel Wright to get the nod in that contest. This move isn't really all that surprising, as Simon's 9.11 ERA (7.18 FIP) was among the highest of all qualified starters, as he certainly didn't provide much cause for optimism during Wednesday's six-run outing against the Cardinals. The Reds' bullpen is one of the worst in the majors, but one has to question if adding Simon there is even a plus at this point.

Simon (2-6) was crushed by the Cardinals in Wednesday's loss. He pitched five innings, allowing six runs, seven hits and five walks while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
The ninth-year veteran's nightmare season continued as he failed to make it past the fifth inning for the ninth time in 12 starts. After winning 28 games over the past two seasons, Simon is performing at a level worthy of being replaced in the rotation. He's walking batters and giving up home runs at career-high rates -- a deadly combination for a pitcher. Two consecutive winning seasons shouldn't be enough to encourage owners that Simon will turn it around any time soon. At this point, there's very few leagues in which he holds even a tiny bit of value.

Simon allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings in a win over the Rockies on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Three of the five hits against Simon left the park, but two were solo shots, and the Reds' hitters gave him plenty of support against right-hander Eddie Butler. It was a successful outing by Simon's standards, but he's far too blowup prone to be a mixed-league option. He's barely on the fringes of NL-only consideration.

Simon only lasted four innings Saturday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks while fanning only one.
EDGE Analysis
Simon struggled once again, and he failed to complete the fifth inning when he was chased out of the game. His ERA ballooned to 9.60, and he had plenty of problems to find the strike zone after throwing only 32 of his 63 pitches for strikes. The 35-year-old veteran's next start will come Thursday against Colorado, although at this point it's not safe to trust him in any format considering his recent struggles.

Simon (1-5) coughed up five runs on nine hits and three walks in five innings Sunday while striking out only one in a 5-4 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Incredibly, the outing actually lowered his ERA to 10.16. Simon remains a blight on the Reds' rotation, managing just two quality starts in nine trips to the mound while giving up five or more runs four times, but until pitchers like Anthony DeSclafani and Homer Bailey are ready to come off the DL, the team will likely keep trotting him out there to try and soak up some innings. His next start will come Saturday in Milwaukee.

Simon was clobbered for 10 runs on 14 hits and one walk over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Indians on Tuesday. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The Tribe absolutely teed off on Simon, who is now 1-4 with a 10.34 ERA and 2.11 WHIP through 31.1 innings. He had turned in back-to-back quality starts coming into Tuesday's outing, and manager Bryan Price gave no indication immediately following the game that Simon's rotation spot is in jeopardy, but it's going to be difficult for the team to keep him there for long. It's worth noting that the Reds' top pitching prospect, Cody Reed, is slated to start for Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, so it would be relatively easy switch for the club when it decides the time is right.

Simon allowed three hits over six innings against the Pirates on Wednesday, and all three were solo homers. He struck out three, walked two and hit two batters en route to a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
This was a heated game, with the two teams combining to hit each other's batters six times and Simon playing no small part in that. Although he met the minimum standard for a quality start, this can't be considered that positive of an outing, considering that Simon has now allowed a stunning nine home runs in his last five outings after keeping the ball in the yard for the first two. He's always had problems with the long ball, but nine homers in 27 innings is a brutal rate. Even though his ERA came down in this one, it's still painfully high at 8.67, making Simon a player to avoid in fantasy circles.

Simon is now scheduled to start Wednesday after Tuesday's game was postponed due to rain.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday's rainout will not affect Simon, as he will simply move back a day to start the series finale against Pittsburgh. Simon has been mostly awful in the early going this season, but he did show some positive signs in his most recent outing, throwing a quality start against Milwaukee. It marked the first time this season Simon has gone more than even five innings.

Simon (1-3) notched his first win with 7.2 strong innings against the Brewers on Thursday, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Expectations couldn't have been high for Simon entering this start -- he hadn't lasted longer than five innings yet this year and came in with a ridiculous 13.50 ERA. But these Brewers are often a user-friendly opponent, and Simon took advantage. Still, it wouldn't be advisable to trust him moving forward unless he shows a drastic turnaround from his early struggles.

Simon (0-3) gave up six hits, three earned runs and four walks over four innings in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran hurler couldn't make it to the fifth inning for the fourth straight start, and surrendered a homer for the third consecutive appearance. His control problems were on full display as well, and Simon's WHIP is now up to a whopping 2.85 over 13.1 innings in 2016. He labored through 98 pitches over his relatively brief stint on the mound, his highest count in that category to date this season. After another ineffective start, Simon's grip on his spot in the rotation is looking increasingly shaky.
